Heads, queens of big time bas· ketball, at 8 p, m. in the Franklin Pie1·ce gymnasium. Rated as America's greatest girls' basketball attl'action, the feminine ctities will give local fans a chance to see top professional basketball against the Parkland Junior Chamber of Commerce in this benefit con· test. All proceeds will go to the Youth Activities Recreation Fund. Good Record The Red Heads have played before 5,000,000 fans since their organization in 1936. They play 180-200 games each season. They play men's rules. In 1953 the Red Heads won 134 of 190 games against men teams. The Jaycees, untied and unbeaten (but they haven't played yet this year), will be under the eye of Coach Gus "The Brain" Tyler with Monte "Money Mad" Johnson as manager. Walt "Walrus" Wiklund is waterboy.

Little more can be said about Pa~ific Lntheran Coliege than has already been mentioned. The Lutes continued their pace last \veek against Gonzaga and entered the NAIA tourney at Kansas City the only unbeaten team. And the NAIA committee didn't pass the 24-0 Lute record without notice. They seeded the Park-. land squad as No. 1.

* * * *

The only thing the Lutes have not done this year, and they may be ·well unde-rway by the time you read this, is win the NAIA. Otherw.ise Marv Harshman's Gladiators have done it all. And we bet that many major colleges have, and will approach Harshman about a new coaching jdb. But we ,ahio bet he .stays where he is.

This will mark the Oilers' second appearance in Tacoma. The Wichita team defeated the Bakers 79-69 at the College of Puget Sound last spring, then the Bakers went on to. win the national title h1 the Denver tourney. Wade (Swede) Halbrook, the seven-footer from Oregon State, tS -back _\vith-:the Oilers again this year as iS Cleo Liltleton, who made quite a name for himself two seasons ago at Wichita University. Coach Frank Fidler's Bakers will pj'obably have Ed Halberg (Oregon), R C. Owens (College of Idaho), Dean Parsons (Washington), Doylo Perkins (Washington) and Chuck Koon I Washington) in their starting lineup. 'The Bakers have also added :rvrarv A.clams, the 6-5 all-Evergreen Conferenc<:> forward from , Whitworth, to their squad in effort to add strength for the worthcoming national tourney.'
