Footpaths galore.

As our suburbs age and urban footprint grows, the City of Playford aims to improve the liveability and connectivity in our neighbourhoods by renewing or replacing existing assets and infrastructure. As part of Council’s Capital Works Program, we identified areas that require the construction of new footpaths, or the renewal of existing footpaths. We earmarked over 13 kilometres of footpaths for upgrading or replacing in 2020/2021. The footpath program is well ahead of schedule and expected to be completed by the end of February.

Safety first on One Tree Hill Road

One Tree Hill Road, between Hannaford Hump Road and Shillabeer Road, is undergoing a reconstruction. The project will involve widening of the road, new line marking, and a signage upgrade to improve the safety of this section of One Tree Hill Road. The project is managed and delivered by both City of Playford and City of Tea Tree Gully as a joint partnership. Works commenced in early February and are expected to run until June this year. We look forward to unveiling the much improved road in due course, and in the meantime, please take care while travelling in this area.

The State Government of South Australia’s Special Local Roads, Roads to Recovery Program has funded $1.1M of the $2.2M project. The City of Playford and City of Tea Tree Gully have each contributed $550K.
