Senior Safety Driving Tips

This presentation is a traffic safety education program for the adult driver, focusing on ages 55 and older. The most important topic covers being aware of and acknowledging the effects that aging has on your driving abilities including sight, hearing, reaction time and more. The program is a collaboration between Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest and the Texas Department of Transportation. The 2nd part of this program, entitled CarFit, is a quick, yet comprehensive review of how well you and your vehicle work together. Reviews will include clear views through the windows, seat belt adjustments, mirror adjustments, and reaching and managing all controls. A trained CarFit technician will ask several simple questions and complete a 12-point checklist. The entire process takes about 20 minutes and you leave with recommended car adjustments and adaptations, resources and a greater peace of mind. For more information, call 254.298.5403.
