4.16 Employer Mobile Phone Policy Purpose: The purpose of the Employer to Glasslyn Vets Mobile Phone policy is to regulate the use of mobile phones provided by the Practice and provide guidance regarding the proper use of same. Mobile phones will be provided to employees as deemed necessary by management. Where an employee has been given access to and use of a mobile phone/smartphone of Glasslyn Vets which is Data/Internet enabled, the Electronic Communication Policy of Glasslyn Vets shall apply to such facilities available on the mobile phone/smartphone, including SMS messages. Scope: All employees with Practice mobile phones. Policy: If a Practice mobile phones is provided to you by the Practice it is to assist you in the execution of your duties for the Practice. The phone remains the property of Glasslyn Vets, at all times. As such the Practice reserves the right to access all information passed over the phone. The phone is provided for Practice business and is not provided for personal use. The Practice may at any time access the mobile phone provided by it. Glasslyn Vets, reserves the right to search a mobile phone/smartphone to investigate any abuse of this policy and may require an employee to provide the Employer to Glasslyn Vets with personal log in details in order to do so. Any request for the return of the phone, must be complied with immediately. Guidelines: The Practice understands that there may be occasions when a mobile phone is used for personal reasons however employees must exercise professional discretion in this regard. Should you use the mobile phone for personal reasons, you are accepting that you may be charged for these calls / texts. If using the mobile phone while driving it is imperative that you use a hands free kit. Under no circumstances should you use the phone in the normal manner while driving either for calls or texts. If you do, you are endangering your life and others. If you resign, you are expected to return the mobile phone with all accompanying accessories. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.
