Section 4: Terms and Conditions 4.1 Salary You will be paid as outlined in your contract of employment. Any change in payment frequency will be communicated to you in advance. You will receive a payslip itemising how earnings were calculated, voluntary and compulsory deductions such as PAYE and Pension etc. If you have queries regarding your pay, please speak to your manager immediately.
4.2 Hours of Work The Employer to Glassyn Vets reserves the right to determine the hours and/or days you work in the interests of the business, to meet service requirements. The Employer also reserves the right to change your working hours from time to time. Any change will be communicated to you in advance. Due to the nature of the Employer’s business you may be required to work for further periods as are necessary for the efficient discharge of your duties. You are required to be flexible regarding the hours and days you work. You will be given reasonable notice of any such changes insofar as is reasonably practicable. Your hours of employment are outlined in your contract of employment. The Practice will use appropriate means to record attendance. Employees should be at their place of work, ready to start work at normal starting time. The Practice attaches great importance to punctuality.
4.3 Lunch Periods and Breaks Your hours of employment including break and rest periods are outlined in your contract of employment.
4.4 Expenses You will be reimbursed for necessary and reasonable expenses that are directly connected with, or that are wholly associated with Practice business. All expenses must be receipted and approved by the Practice Owner(s) to Directors. You shall comply with such rules and regulations as may from time to time be laid down by the Employer with regard to the approval and vouching of such expenses.
4.5 Outside Employment You may not without the prior written consent of the Employer, outside your normal hours of work for the Employer engage, either directly or indirectly, in any business or employment competitive with the business of the Employer or which fetters, inhibits or adversely affects your duties to the Employer. Any breach of this clause in your contract may lead to your dismissal.
4.6 Professional Competence Employees registered with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI) are reminded that their continued employment is contingent on their compliance with all legislation and / or regulations and / or policies and/ or professional conduct guides, whether prescribed by the VCI or by statute which apply to their role.
