#PlanttheLand #Tested #Strain of the Month “The Durango OG is what we here at LaPlata Labs consider an absolute masterpiece. DGOG started out as an Alien OG x Alien Bubba F1 hybrid that was created by a friend of ours at Eclectic Genetics, since then we have taken the absolute best male and female that we found over our long and exhausting pheno hunt and continued to work these selections until we have stabilized to the traits that we enjoy. Our DGOG is an F3 hybrid that is uniform in growth, has solid structures and buds that are packed with extreme amounts of resin. She also has an unforgettable- overpowering funky OG kush taste that most kush lovers will fall in love with. This strain is one of our " holy grail" strains and she will shine bright inside any skilled garden that she is placed in, we are highly confident and extremely proud to present DGOG to the public!

“Few other seed breeders have hit the most awarded lines of cannabis genetics since publish the brief interview we had with

scene like Rare Dankness; one of the their establishment in 2010. We're excited to Scott, the founder of Rare Dankness.”

PTL: “Rare Dankness quickly created a footprint in the over-crowded world of cannabis genetics but we know it wasn't an overnight success. Can you tell our readers how the road was to becoming one of the few, elite seed breeders?” RD: “There were plenty of great breeders that led the way that have allowed me to exist in the fashion RD does today. Shantibaba, Neville, the Dronkers , DjShort to name a few. Where RD stands out is the 10+ years I ran Moonshine Seeds and the reputation and history developed online. I the opportunity in 2009 to transfer all that recognized experience and bring it into the legal framework of the Colorado cannabis industry. In the last 5 years I've been a grower, a dispensary owner, a consultant, a teacher, an advocate, marketing genius, capital venture-ist , cancer survivor , canna celebrity ,but ultimately I am a farm kid who found his niche in seeds....” PTL: “The OG GTH#1 is considered to be Rare Dankness' flagship strain and has become one of the most popular strains in the world. Testing over 25% back in 2012 and higher since, this specimen was awarded "The Strongest Strain on Earth" by HighTimes. Collecting cup after cup, GHT#1 is a keeper in the garden for any Sativa dominant, OG lover. What phenotype should the hunters out there be looking for to ensure they have the cup winner?” Scott’s OG Triangle Kush X Rare Dankness #1

RD: “If you have testing abilities it's easy. Pick that +25%’er. Lol. It's the perfect blend of all 3 parents with a high calyx to leaf ratio. Great for trellis growing. Excels in hydro and outdoors.“ PTL: “Congratulations on your most recent wins Scott. Just days ago, "Starkiller" took home another award; "2nd place Hybrid" at the 2014 High Times Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam and placed 1st in the Seattle cup in September. -Clearly a great year for Starkiller and Rare Dankness overall. Is there any specific clone only strains Rare Dankness plans on acquiring (or has acquired) to work with for the next Rare Dankness release?” RD: “We have a few moms we tend to use a little heavier than others. That Ghost OG being one. But new stuff? There's a few CBD varieties in the works. A few new Sativas based on some landrace Sativas. But when and where those get released, no clue.” PTL: “Many hydroponic growers have been transitioning to organic/TLO/probiotic gardens, do you believe it's worth the switch or is Rare Dankness primarily soil-less?” RD: “I grow using a few different methods. Most know me from that Moonshine Mix soil that High Times posted back in 2005. But I'm a nerd. The farmer / science geek comes to the surface hard when it comes to weed. That's why I'm known for the hydro. I love custom aero. Wacky medium choices. Etc. most pot growers get too complacent. They find something that kinda works and never experience all the nuisances you learn/experience by growing in diff mediums.” PTL: “The company has made some significant moves this year, so what's on the agenda for Rare Dankness in 2015?” RD: “RD split with River Rock in June. After we ended the licensing agreement we had in place it allowed RD to start branching out into other marketplaces with the intention of capitalizing on the market placement and branding RD has built. We recognized the power of the Skunk logo and reputation built and wanted to utilize that instead of allowing others to capitalize on what we have built. Our current mission is to build out facilities that will provide "branded Rare Dankness flowers and concentrates" to multiple markets including Colorado and Las Vegas. In the last 5 yrs we've produced 11 strains that have won awards, a few winning multiple awards. I try to enter something different into every contest. I believe in my work.”

Step 3: Bake at 350째 for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Yield: 2 dozen.

Archive Seed Bank is the breeding program and seed company behind long time continually active online community member and former Overgrow.com member, "ThaDocta". Originally conceived in 2006, "The Archive" was Docta's attempt to establish a long term goal at heirloom, verified original cannabis clones and seed lines. So that they could be preserved via distribution of genetics to closed groups of talented breeders and growers so as to preserve these historic lines through verifiable grows and networks. Clones and seed selections were distributed all across the nation, from SoCal, to the NW, Hawaii, East Coast Colorado, the South East, and in every corner of the country. These heirloom genetics were consciously distributed to trusted friends that would uphold the tradition of genetic preservation through verifiable genetic material and strong relations; Archive shows respect to those who risked their freedom in the 80's and 90's preserving and growing these insanely dank heirloom specimens that has allowed us to provide them to the public today. Docta helped contribute to the documentation of 3 strains in the original Canna Bible series and has charitably donated a large portion of his extensive genetic library of clone only strains to be used in original formation of Rare Dankness seeds. Through his extensive network of old school grower friends he was able to compile and collect 100's of "clone only", extremely rare varieties from across the USA. After non-stop 11 years of constant seed growing and clone only comparative analysis and exhaustive verification of authenticity, ThaDocta decided to finally make some of his breeding and rare genetics made available to growers across the planet and not just to those that know about the underground Archive.

Over the last few months, PTL has come across a podcast that’s worth writing about for several reasons. “The “Adam Dunn Show” is a weekly podcast broadcasted on iCannabis Radio and distributed via iTunes/YouTube. The podcast is hosted by cannabis underground legend, Adam Dunn, the founder of THSeeds. Advancing the culture since the early 90s, Adam also founded Hempworks and Hemp Hoodlamb clothing in Amsterdam before moving to Colorado in 2010. Adam propels the show with a cast of colorful guests and unbelievable anecdotes from his 25 years in the cannabis industry. Mitch Shenassa is the multiple Cannabis Cup winning founder of Incredibowl Industries, a cannabis journalist for Kind Reviews and High Times, and the author of The Cannabis Aficionado's Handbook.” Week after week, we’ve noticed the unique subject matter that the Adam Dunn Show covers; which is why I, and many of my friends, have been subscribers for some time now. The show’s content ranges from industry news, to cannabis horticulture, to cannabis plant science. The deep and mysterious histories of our favorite strains are also discussed in unparalleled detail with guests such as Chemdawg, Matt “Bubba” Berger, OrgnKid, OGKushman, ThaDocta, and Dave Richards.

Now, enter the “OGenome Project”. What are this project’s objectives? Who will carry this out? And how accurate can any conclusions be?  Summary: Mitch Shenassa & Adam Dunn will collect a number of the most significant OG’s out there from only the most trusted sources. Using approximately 96 samples, John DeFriel of Phytotype Agrigenomics will examine these elite OG’s, create a genetic profile and compare these results with the results of some well-known Sour Diesels, Chemdawgs, etc.. The goal is not to create a family tree of OG Kush’s genetics, because that process would deem nearly impossible with limited, verifiable parentage, not to mention limited funding, but to start finding out whether or not SFV OG, Tahoe OG, Ghost OG, etc.. is at all related with Sour Diesel, Chemdawg, Bubba, etc.. for example. Finding the true origins of OG Kush, Bubba, Chem, or any modern variety for that matter is a difficult, lengthy, & expensive process as thoroughly explained in the True Origins of OG Kush Part 1, 2, & 3, although a process that has officially begun thanks to the guys at The ADS. Next issue, we’re sitting down with Mitch of the Adam Dunn Show for what should be a short, yet informative conversation with more details on the OGenome project.
