T The remodeling of the Ponciano Arriaga Airport concludes in January The remodeling of the “Ponciano Arriaga” International Airport will be completed by January, due to the fact that they are carrying out the improvement work on the main entrance, which will allow a better image of San Luis Potosí towards the investors. This was announced by the Secretary of Economic Development, Gustavo Puente Orozco, who announced that by the end of 2018 it is expected to reach 600 thousand passengers, when last year they were 554 thousand and the objective of Grupo Aeroportuario Centro-Norte OMA is to double this number of passengers in the entity of SLP. He commented that San Luis Potosí is located in the fourth place at national level in air cargo by Estafeta that carries out this activity in the International Airport “Ponciano Arriaga”.
A thousand and 500 hectares affected by frost
An estimated one thousand 500 hectares were damaged in the municipality of Ciudad Fernández due to the frosts registered in the area a couple of weeks ago, hitting the economy of the agricultural producers in the region. Marcelo Gutiérrez, producer and president of the Livestock Association in the municipality, announced that there are about five thousand hectares that were planted in this period in which at least 1,500 were injured by the ice. Within the damages said losses of 300 hectares of corn are registered, tomatillo 200 hectares, 400 hectares of chile in its varieties of serrano, jalapeño and poblano, and 250 hectares of tomato, among other products.
