atomic explosions. From the notes about this event written by Dr. Dale in early

1 958, one is left with the realization that Cynthia is describing a moving three-dimensional image or bologram. But there is a problem. Cynthia cannot have seen one of these. Indeed holograms had not been invented when the psychologist penned this report, and it was some years before a working prototype was demonstrated. When the being finally disappeared (fading away just as he arrived), Cynthia noted that he had been standing on a piece of discarded newspaper. This had a scorch mark upon it. Ac足 cording to John Dale it resembled a lightning strike or small electrical discharge.
