The girls have been developing their skills in history this year, learning how to use historical sources to gain an understanding of the lives of significant figures from the past who have contributed to national and international life. One of the people they learnt about was Queen Elizabeth. The girls began with a portrait of the Queen as a stimulus and following this they delved into the Queen’s past, finding out about the events in her life and ordering them into a timeline. Natalia Z

Queen Elizabeth was born in 1926. She had one younger sister called Margaret. Her Mum and Dad were called King George VI and Elizabeth Bowes-Lyons. Queen Elizabeth married Philip Mountbatten. Queen Elizabeth had four children – Prince Andrew, Princess Anne, Prince Charles and Prince Edward. She became Queen on 6 February 1952. The Queen is the most famous woman in the world.

ANIMALS

These animal were created as part of the Pre-Prep and Prep Art Day. They are inspired by the book “Flippity Flap Safari” where the animals in the book are made from two animals combined. “I LOVED BEING IN YEAR ONE BECAUSE OF ALL THE FUN TOPICS AND ALL THE FUN THAT WE HAD.”
