YEAR 3
PENGUIN
Penguin waddles side to side, Over the brow of the hill. Black and white business suit, Briefcase filled with fish. Rounded tummy bulging, Funny old man swaying, Side to side, side to side. Not time for a rest, On the way to his nest. Year 3 Class Poem

My monster lives in a top secret underwater cave. The monster’s home has four ferocious electric eels guarding the entrance. The inside of the monster’s lair is even worse – it is dark and even uglier than the monster himself! Although the monster is really ugly because his dirty shrivelled skin is a revolting mucus green. He always drools absolutely disgusting saliva. Also on his long slimy tentacles are squishy suckers. Inside my monster’s big mouth there are huge pointy teeth. Stella H

MY MONSTER
He is nasty, mean and horrible. He has dangerous eyes that shoot lasers whenever he is angry. Every day he wakes up cross because he has smelly, bad breath. He has green claws, a curly tail and pointed teeth. Sometimes he is a naughty thief who steals people’s food. He eats until he vomits and is quite fat. His skin has dry scales and he is bright green. He is always scratching himself. He sleeps in a hole underground and often cries because he has no friends. Sometimes he goes up to people and acts cute. Amber K

My monster lives in a cave in Switzerland. The cave is dark and scary. He is quite funny and he is ticklish. He is only ticklish behind the horns and behind the tentacles. He loves to jump in muddy puddles and he does NOT like having baths. Mummy monster makes him have them because if he doesn’t have them then he really stinks. In summer time little monster gets his favourite ice-cream – chocolate. He plays in the garden and gets very messy.

ELEPHANT
When I woke up this morning and looked out of the window, I couldn’t believe what I saw! There was a line of elephants holding each other’s tails. Looking like a line of school children, Stomping in a line, ready for assembly. I could feel the earth tremble as each of them took a step. They all had long trunks and huge ears, That were flapping in the wind. Stella H
BUTTERFLY
Beautiful butterfly flutter over here Come whisper how your day was in my ear. I won’t touch you, I won’t move, Just fly over here and go with the groove. There’s no need to tremble, I only want to look at your colourful wings, And for you to tell me how your day has been. No pretty butterfly, don’t fly away, Flit over here, I only want to play. OWLS
Girls in Year 3 listened to the Greek myth telling of how Athena became the goddess of Athens with the owl as her symbol of wisdom. They made their own drawings of owls and then used these as inspiration for the design and development of a Greek-inspired owl. Their designs were executed in clay relief, using tools to impress patterns, then burnished with gold paint to finish.
DRAGONS
To make their dragon eyes the girls used charcoal and markmaking effects to create atmospheric drawings of dragon eyes peering out at you! The colourful dragon pictures were inspired by the festivities of Chinese New Year.
