:: WHAT IS PUNTO Y RAYA FESTIVAL? Punto y Raya fosters audiovisual art (focused on film, animation, installation, and live cinema) in its purest state: Form, Colour, Motion and Sound. No representation! This renders it Universal and Timeless. Its mission is to recapture the spirit of the Cinéma Pure and Absolute Film formulated by the European avant-garde in the 1920s, consolidating this unique artform laying at the intersection between the Fine and the Visual Arts. Since our first edition in 2007, we aim to overcome intercultural barriers and bring together people from all over the world under the motto Back to basics!. Our radical and challenging approach has quickly earned us the recognition of the audiovisual community and the specialised critic, and in 2008 the Japanese press gave us the title of "most abstract festival in the world". With six festival editions under its belt, one International Symposium, the most comprehensive Online Catalogue and Resource Centre in the genre, and a promotion platform comprising 50 cities around the globe, Punto y Raya has consolidated itself as the world benchmark for Abstract Art in Motion. The event takes place every two years in major venues showcasing contemporary creation and new technologies. :: PyR FESTIVAL 2018 VENUES > FESTIVAL PARTNER :: CeTA | CENTRUM TECHNOLOGII AUDIOWIZUALNY Wystawowa 1, 51-618 Wrocław, Poland http://filmstudioceta.pl/en The Audiovisual Technology Center is an innovative cultural facility working in the field of new visual technologies, primarily for use in cinematography. The Studio was funded by the Polish Ministry of Culture & National Heritage and the Polish Film Institute. Their facility is one-of-a-kind film studio, equipped with innovative technology for creating and composing multilayer images in real time. In addition to their creative projects, they collaborate with outside filmmakers to develop visual-effects sequences for their feature films and projects. Film Studio offers outside filmmakers and producers access to cuttingedge electronic image technologies and carries out research aimed at the further development of those technologies for filmmaking.

:: Four Domes Pavilion | MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART ul. Wystawowa 1, 51-618 Wrocław, Poland http://pawilonczterechkopul.pl/en The Four Domes Pavilion, the seat of the new branch of the National Museum in Wrocław, was built in 1912 to a design by the distinguished architect Hans Poelzig. Alongside Max Berg’s landmark Centennial Hall, it was one of the principal architectural features of the Exhibition Grounds complex built for the Centennial Exhibition in 1913. Until 1945, it occasionally housed art and industrial exhibitions and in 1948 was used as a venue for the famous Exhibition of the Reclaimed Territories. In 1953, it became part of the Film Studios in Wrocław, known for a number of distinguished films. In 2006, the Centennial Hall and its surroundings were entered on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In 2009, the Four Domes Pavilion was designated for the contemporary art collection of the National Museum. The films are structured in six reels, showcasing an amazing variety of techniques, aesthetics and approaches. We’ll hold Q&A sessions with artists in attendance.

:: GUEST SCREENINGS > POLISH SHORT FILM PANORAMA (PL) FORMAT: FULL HD | TRT: 100’ | Studio A / CeTA A search for a universal cinematographic language, the evasion of realism, the illustration of music, and the exploration of motion, all understood as an entirely new and absolute form of expression. The Polish Panorama aims to observe the evolution of the genre through time, and to question the perception of abstract cinema. Curated and introduced by Ania Głowińska, the Programme Coordinator of ANIMATOR Festiwal in Poznań. We’ll hold a Q&A session with guest artists.

Ania Głowińska | Poznań, Poland With a BA in Romanic Philology, Ania studied Visual Arts at the Lumière Lyon 2 University in France, where she received her Master’s degree. She currently works in Poznań as a program coordinator for the International Animation Festival ANIMATOR. She curates screenings for various festivals including NO WOMEN NO ART (Poznań), Le Grand Salon de la Microédition (Lyon) and KinoPOSLKA (Berlin), and acts as a juror for festivals like KolorOFFon, ZOOM & Punto y Raya Festival.

> BRITISH SHORT FILM PANORAMA (UK) FORMAT: FULL HD | TRT: 100’ | Studio A / CeTA The London International Animation Festival has been showcasing abstract film since 2003, the earliest days of its annual festival. For this screening, curator Nag Vladermersky raided the LIAF archives to take a look at the last two decades of British production in this field. Here you will see every technique from hand-drawn ‘musical scores’ all the way across the scale to high definition, computer assisted image making. Nag Vladermersky | London, UK Founder, director and programmer of the London International Animation Festival (LIAF) in the UK. LIAF has attracted increasing international respect and recognition while progressing the unique visions of talented animators worldwide. Nag is also the co-director of the Melbourne International Animation Festival (MIAF), Australia’s largest animation festival, and he regularly travels to festivals, colleges and institutions across the UK and worldwide as a festival juror and delivering lectures and presentations on all aspects of animation.

:: GUEST PyRFORMANCES (Live A/V Sessions) > KENICHI YONEDA_kynd + YAPORIGAMI (JP) FORMAT: SINGLE CHANNEL / FULL HD | TRT: 30’ | Studio A / CeTA Live audiovisual experiment combining realtime generated painterly graphics by kynd with music by Yaporigami. Having specialised in traditional oil painting, kynd now explores the boundaries between computer algorithms, handcrafted aesthetics and physical phenomena. The set consists of realtime projection of code-generated motion graphics inspired by -and in simulation ofphysical painting, drawings and materials. All this is amalgamated with digital aesthetics, fine-crafted IDM, forward-thinking industrial soundscapes, spastic beats lost in the void, and pleasant / varied listening experiences for the senses.

> KINOMANUAL + PIN PARK (PL) FORMAT: SINGLE CHANNEL / FULL HD | TRT: 30’ | Studio A / CeTA This is a project comprised of two duos that actually constitute a trio: kinoMANUAL (Aga Jąrzab & Maciek Bączyk) and Pin Park (Maciek Polak & Maciek Bączyk). Based in Wroclaw, kinoMANUAL explore mainly analogue stop-motion techniques, such as hand-drawn, cut-out and non camera animation. Pin Park creates electronic music using only the unusual architecture and unrepeatable timbres of EMS synthesizers /2 x Synthi AKS/. Their live session is a wondrous exploration of colour, form, composition, and texture, spanning from the tiniest details in nature to epic mindscapes. In turn, Pin Park's minimalist and experimental compositions help submerge the viewer in this feast for the senses, where time seems to take a respite.

Aga Jąrzab (Wrocław, PL) Graduated from the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław. She does a lot of things: animated films with traditional techniques (her favourite), drawings, art objects, and design. She collaborates with many cultural institutions as a graphic designer and animator. She also works with students at the Academy of Art and Design, acting as a professor assistant in the Media Art Department.

Maciek Bączyk (Wrocław, PL) A graduate of Cultural Studies at the University of Wrocław. Maciek Bączyk works with sound and image in practice and in theory. In 2010 Bączyk returned to visual arts, mainly experimental film and installations. One of the most important features of his works is a manual contact with film, tapes, tools and the production process itself. Together with Aga Jarząb he created the small, independent audiovisual production house: kinoMANUAL. He has performed and recorded with bands such as AGD, Robotobibok, Small Instruments and his current band, Kristen. Bączyk is also half of the Pin Park duo.

Maciek Polak (Gdańsk, PL) Experimental musician and composer, Maciek is fascinated by analogue synths. He is the founder of analogia.pl, a small studio and repair shop of all types of vintage synthesizers, which he sees as the perfect marriage between art and design.

> DAVID STOUT (US) FORMAT: SINGLE CHANNEL / FULL HD | TRT: 30’ | Studio A / CeTA The Janus Switch v.2 is a digital performance work merging live cinema and electronic sound in a poetic exploration of generative audio-visual feedback structures. Janus, the twoheaded Roman god was notable for his ability to look in two directions at once. He was known as the god of doorways and passages. The Janus Switch is a techno-poetic realization of these ideas, where signal streams are switched rapidly back and forth to create a wide range of sonic and visual interactions.

The system software, created by Cory Metcalf in collaboration with David Stout, allows for realtime mixing of mathematic data to create an evolving array of hybrid audio-visual forms and aesthetic behaviors. The image vocabulary, like music, reveals its source as a kind of fluid state of transitory becoming. What emerges for the viewer is a dynamic subjectivity, as the audience must actively complete the circuit to co-create the meaning or apparent “thingness” of the abstract forms the mind and body is confronting. All of the resulting sound comes from the direct sonification of the image processes.

David Stout | Denton·TX, USA David Stout is a visual artist, composer and performer exploring crossmedia synthesis and interdisciplinary approaches to hybrid genres bridging the arts. He holds an inter-arts MFA from the California Institute of the Arts where he studied with Ed Emshwiller, Jim Pomeroy, and Bill Viola. He is the recipient of national and international awards and recognitions for works that include live cinema performance, interactive video installation, electro-acoustic music composition and immersive performance events that integrate emerging technologies and multi-screen projection as an extension of performer, audience and architecture. Since 2002 he has worked closely with creative partner, Cory Metcalf, under the name NoiseFold, to examine the aesthetic possibilities for evolutionary generative systems, artificial life networks and simulation environments.

:: MASTERCLASSES > THORSTEN FLEISCH: RECONTEXTUALIZING TEXTURES (DE) FORMAT: FULL HD | TRT: 90’ | Sala Kinowa / CeTA A cinematic journey and investigation into materials, surfaces, perception and higher states of consciousness. With source materials like aluminum foil, high voltage, skin, blood and crystals, Thorsten Fleisch creates hypnotic films that comfortably walk a fine line between pure abstraction, suggestion and observation. Time permitting, Thorsten will also illustrate with some of his audiovisual works.

Thorsten Fleisch | Berlin, Germany Thorsten Fleisch made his first film experiments with his dad’s Super 8 camera when still in school. Later he studied experimental film with Prof. Peter Kubelka at the Städelschule in Frankfurt. Fleisch works with digital and analogue film. With materials such as the body, crystals, fire and electricity, he worked directly on 16 mm film strips. Crystals are grown on the film and 30,000 volts burn through photo paper. The results are poetic and abstract visual systems with references to catharsis, cosmos and the universe. He created commissioned work for Gaspar Noé and Basement Jaxx among others. His films received several awards and were shown at festivals worldwide. He has currently released his first feature film. http://fleischfilm.com

> VIBEKE SØRENSEN MASTERCLASS (SI) FORMAT: FULL HD | TRT: 90’ | Sala Kinowa / CeTA A fascinating trip through the body of work of this visual artist, composer and researcher. Vibeke is renowned for being one of the earliest digital artists to bring together art, science and engineering in her work, exploring subjects like creative tech, data visualisation, computer stereographics, the future of design, visions of reality & interactivity, amongst many other fascinating topics. In this talk, Vibeke will discuss some highlights of her extensive research, and how she writes code and develops new tools to create abstract animations and visual music.

Vibeke Sørensen | Singapore Artist, composer, and professor working in digital multimedia and animation, stereography, interactive architectural installation, and networked visual music performance. Her work in experimental new media spans more than four decades and has been published and exhibited worldwide, including in books, galleries, museums, conferences, performances, film festivals, on cable and broadcast television, and the internet. Vibeke Sørensen has a long history of interdisciplinary collaborations, art-science and art-engineering interactions. > JOHN OSBORNE: COMPLEXITY AND PATTERNICITY (CA) FORMAT: FULL HD | TRT: 90’ | Sala Kinowa / CeTA Osborne, awarded second prize at Punto y Raya Festival 2011, will be discussing his creative process and the various experiments and techniques he has developed over his 40-year trajectory, spanning from his pioneer work as a computer operator in the early 70s, to his latest analogue and digital works. Some full videos and clips from other videos made over the years will be shown to illustrate the concepts.

John Osborne | Edmonton·AB, Canada John began experimenting with abstract images and film in the late sixties and later worked for two years as the principle operator at a computer animation studio in London. The studio’s novel hybrid analogue computer was used to make some of the first computer animated television commercials in the UK. In 1975, John returned to Canada and began a 30-year career with a large multinational company working on Ontario, Alberta and Michigan in areas of information technology and environmental research, but continued his interest in the visual arts. In early 2000, he returned to the computer as a creative tool and began experimenting with mathematical algorithms to generate patterns and abstract images. He began to animate these images to music, which he often composed himself. In more recent years, John has worked with professional musicians on a variety of abstract music videos and has had films shown at festivals in North America and Europe.

> BONNIE MITCHELL: IMMERSIVE INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES (US) FORMAT: FULL HD | TRT: 90’ | Sala Kinowa / CeTA This masterclass will focus on Bonnie Mitchell’s transformation of environments into art experiences through the use of abstract animation, experimental audio and interaction. Her films and animated installations explore perception, the sense of presence and the natural phenomena through experiential relationships to our physical and psychological environment. Her animated artworks use digital special effects in non-conventional ways along with multiple projections, sculpted spaces, electronics, and experimental sound. The session includes screenings of experimental animations and documentation of animated installations.

Bonnie Mitchell | Bowling Green·OH, USA Received her MFA in Visual Design from the University of Oregon in 1992 with a focus on computer art and animation. She is currently a Professor at Bowling Green State University in Digital Arts, in Bowling Green, Ohio, USA. Bonnie Mitchell's research and creative interests include experimental visual music animation, 3D special effects, interactive animated installation artworks, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Her animation and artworks explore spatial and experiential relationships to our physical, social, cultural and psychological environment through time and interaction. Mitchell's animations and immersive animated interactive installations have been exhibited at festivals, concerts and art exhibitions such as the Visual Music Marathon in NYC, SIGGRAPH, and many more. http://bonniemitchell.com

> AGA JARZĄB + OLGA WRONIEWICZ: EXERCISE IN ABSTRACTION (PL) FORMAT: FULL HD | TRT: 90’ | Sala Kinowa / CeTA This masterclass is presented as a film conversation, where two pedagogical practices -led by Wroniewicz at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw, and Jarząb at E. this specific subject. The talk will be illustrated with films by students from the Multimedia Studio (PJATK) in Warsaw, and from the Studio of Intermedia Activities (ASP) in Wrocław. These works come from various artistic fields, such as Motion Design, Intermedia Graphics, Video mapping, and traditional Animation.

Olga Wroniewicz | Warsaw, Poland Olga is a graphic artist and director of abstract animated films. She studied at the Studio of Animated Film of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, at the Faculty of Graphic Arts. She graduated in 2004 with the film Audiowizualność, which won the Academy Rector’s Award. Currently, she works as an assistant to Daniel Szczechura at the Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology in Warsaw, and to Hieronim Neumann at the Fine Arts Academy in Warsaw. Her activities oscillate between film, music and sound. Her films often seem quasi musical structures, referring to the achievements of Visual Music and some of her idols’ creations: Oscar Fischinger, Hans Richter and Man Ray.

:: WORKSHOPS > BARBARA PRZERWA: ABSTRACT CONTRASTS (PL) TRT: 60’ | Four Domes Pavilion | for adults Expressionist abstraction vs. geometrical abstraction. Metaphor and randomness is a surprising combination. Participants will be acquainted with the works of Tadeusz Brzozowski and Ryszard Winiarski. Comparing the paint materials and the contrast between their works -products of different creative paths- the participants will explore conscious movement and plastic work in the form of a collage

> BARBARA PRZERWA: ABSTRACT FLOWS (PL) TRT: 60’ | Four Domes Pavilion | for adults The creation of an organic, lyrical and formless abstraction is based on the spontaneous gesture of Painting, and the fascination with the material and its possibilities. Paintings by Jerzy Tchórzewski and Alfred Lenica pulsate with life. Expressive and colourful patches, dynamic lines, and a multi-layered texture retain on the canvas the energy of a vision. Participants will seek inspiration in paintings by these two artists, searching for the energy flow in their own bodies, and then pour it onto paper.

Barbara Przerwa | Wrocław, Poland Educator and cultural animator specialised in Dance. Since 1995, she has been an educator at the National Museum in Wrocław. Author of many papers in Art History, and the creator of a series of art games for children (Museum Cat Paths, Museum Mosaic), she also teaches Art & Motion workshops for children and adults. In her educational work she combines art history and expressions with intuitive dance. Based on the collections exhibited at the National Museum in Wrocław and the Four Domes Pavilion, she searches for links between the consciousness of the body and the conscious perception of art.

:: PROMOTIONAL WORKSHOPS BEFORE THE EVENT October 12-20 // CeTA > ENLIGHTENMENT: KINGA BARTNIAK (PL) FORMAT: 1 x 3 hs. | Recepcja The title refers to the ambiguous word enlightening, that in most languages can be interpreted in many ways – as a light system rendering objects visible, or as an act of edification. During the workshops we will produce a wavy, fluid and abstract visualisation to an instrumental score. It will be based on experimenting with light. Participants will use the physical properties of light, experimenting with colour, chemistry, and the motion of air. This workshop will be held in two separated sessions: one for children and one for adults. For the adults workshop, we will conclude with the visualisation of the resulting work. It's not necessary to know any specific software nor the basics video editing.

Kinga Bartniak | Wrocław, Poland Kinga Bartniak is a Graphic Design student at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Wrocław. She works in the fields of Media Art and Graphic Design, and participates in artistic residencies and exhibitions. She also teaches workshops of stop-motion animation at various festivals.

> VVVV PROGRAMMING: DARIUSZ JACKOWSKI (PL) FORMAT: 1 x 5 hs. | Computer Lab / CeTA vvvv is a hybrid visual/textual live-programming environment for easy prototyping and development. It was designed by vvvv group to facilitate the handling of large media environments with physical interfaces, real-time motion graphics, audio and video that can interact with many users simultaneously. During the workshop, participants will explore various video generation & processing methods, mostly based on abstract mathematical formulas.

Dariusz Jackowski | Wrocław, Poland Multi-instrumentalist, improviser,

and specialist in the field of application of generative systems in music & audio programming. He collaborated with many renowned artists, musicians and composers. He performed, amongst others, in the Musica Polonica Nova, the ISMC World Music Days, and the Avant Art festivals. He is the originator of various types of innovative projects combining music and modern technologies. He works at CeTA in Wrocław, where he continues his research, collaborates with artists, carries out sound synthesis workshops, and conducts improvisational orchestras.

> SPARKLE AND SHINE: NIKODEM SZLĘZAK + MONIKA LUSZPAK-SKIBA (PL) FORMAT: 1 x 2 hs. | Animation Studio / CeTA During this JUNIOR Workshop, participants will learn the basics of creating stop-motion animations, as they become acquainted with the genre of non-representational film. For the compositions, we’ll use various luminous materials such as glitter, sequins, and other reflecting objects and surfaces.

Nikodem Szlęzak | Wrocław, Poland Camera supervisor at CeTA. He has ample experience working on film sets. He is also a film educator with a broad practice: he conducts trainings and workshops for children, youth and adults, teaching various camera operation techniques, set lighting, and stop-motion animation.

Monika Łuszpak-Skiba With a background in Fine Arts, Monika has a BA in Cultural Studies from the University of Wrocław. She worked in project development, cultural management, and marketing for various multinational companies. Since 2016, Monika is the project coordinator of the educational department at CeTA (Audiovisual Technology Center) in Wrocław, organising courses and workshops, and implementing training programmes for professionals in new media and the film industry. She occasionally lectures and contributes papers on various art subjects.

:: INSTALLATIONS > ANIMATION NOTEBOOKS 2010 & 2012: LARRY CUBA (US) FORMAT: 2D & 3D | FULL HD | TRT: 70’ + 13’ | Four Domes Pavilion Animation Notebooks 2010 & 2012 are generative animation videos that this pioneer in CG art began developing in 1995 during Larry Cuba's residency at ZKM. After nearly ten years in the making, the project was halted by a major computer failure. Fortunately, we still have his notebooks full of experiments, that he presented at ZKM in the context of the 2017 Open Codes exhibition. This ever-developing work arrives for the first time in Poland, introduced by the artist. Animation Notebook 2010 is a silent piece with a TRT of 70' . Animation Notebook 2012 is stereoscopic -to be viewed with anaglyphic glasses- with a TRT of 13'.

Larry Cuba | Santa Cruz·CA, USA One of the most important artists in the tradition known variously as abstract, absolute or concrete animation. While still a graduate student at CalArts, he was convinced of the artistic potential of computer graphics, but this was years before art schools began teaching the subject. So Larry solicited access to the mainframe computers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab and taught himself computer animation by producing his first film, First Fig. In 1975 John Whitney invited him to be the programmer for his film Arabesque. Subsequently, Cuba produced three more computer·animated films: 3/78 [Objects and Transformations], Two Space, and Calculated Movements. Cuba also provided computer graphics for Star Wars Episode IV: A new Hope in 1977, one of the earliest 3D CG animations in film history. http://www.iotacenter.org


> SFUMATO: ROBERT SEIDEL (DE) FORMAT: FULL HD | Four Domes Pavilion sfumato is a unique approach at pushing the limits of abstract painting in the digital age. In a time of complete virtualization of knowledge, work and monetary flows, painting finally can be in the same state of flux beyond the constraints of a physical material. The title refers to one of the four canonical painting modes of Renaissance art, a technique that emphasizes soft transition between colours and tones. In its asymmetrical orchestration it follows the concepts of “moving paintings” Seidel develops for more than a decade, starting with his award-winning film _grau.

Robert Seidel

| Berlin, Germany Robert Seidel began his studies in biology before transferring to the Bauhaus University Weimar to complete his degree in media design. His projections, installations and experimental films have been shown in numerous international festivals, as well as at galleries and museums such as the Palais des Beaux-Arts Lille, ZKM Karlsruhe, Art Center Nabi Seoul, Young Projects Los Angeles, Museum of Image and Sound São Paulo and MOCA Taipei. His works have been honoured with various prizes, including the KunstFilmBiennale Honorary Award and the Visual Music Award. > SHADOW BOX ATTRACTIONS: DAVID STOUT (US) FORMAT: HD | TRT: 22’ | Four Domes Pavilion Animated video installation that utilises a particle chamber simulation to explore novel generative drawing techniques. The software, conceived by artist, David Stout, was realized in collaboration with interactive media programmers, Luke Dubois (USA), Cory Metcalf (USA) and Reiner Kramer (DE). Shadow Box Attractions shares an “imaginative corollary” to historic research in contemporary particle physics, while being an artwork that seeks to dramatize the dynamic interplay of elemental forces. dimensional drawing instrument that provides the artist with the opportunity to interact in real-time to control the animated behaviour of autonomous particles utilising reconfigurable “force fields.”

David Stout | Denton·TX, USA Visual artist, composer and performer exploring cross-media synthesis and interdisciplinary approaches to hybrid genres bridging the arts. He holds an inter-arts MFA from the California Institute of the Arts where he studied with Ed Emshwiller, Jim Pomeroy, and Bill Viola. He is the recipient of national and international awards and recognitions for works that include live cinema performance, interactive video installation, electro-acoustic music composition and immersive performance events that integrate emerging technologies and multiscreen projection as an extension of performer, audience and architecture.

Max Hattler | Hong Kong City, Hong Kong Max Hattler is a moving image artist educated at Goldsmiths and the Royal College of Art. He has had solo exhibitions and retrospectives at Playgrounds Festival, Lumen Eclipse, Media Art Friesland, Image Forum Festival Japan and International Short Film Festival Detmold, among others. His work has been shown at film festivals and exhibitions worldwide and he has collaborated with music acts such as Basement Jaxx, Julien Mier, Jovanotti, Pixelord, The Egg, and Jemapur. These short films explore the elusive line that separates the poetry of pure form & colour from concrete ideas and objects. At what precise point does one become the other? And what does this say about the way we observe and understand the world?

> LOOK UP AND AROUND Short films using analogue and mixed techniques to either capture reality in an abstract way, or abstract expressions immersed in the real world. Listening to their bodies, breathing deeply, and traversing galleries performing dance steps, participating children will find the answers to these questions. We will preserve their sighs of delight, murmurs of discontent and joyous cries of admiration applying paint on paper.

> BARBARA PRZERWA: BLOT CHASE TRT: 60’ | Four Domes Pavilion Participants will be introduced to paintings where coloured patches intermingle, creating dynamic compositions. Blot Chase: we’ll translate the movement from the image to the movement of the body. As part of the process, children will make collages using various materials: coloured paper, meshes, and clear filmstock.

> BARBARA PRZERWA: ABSTRACTION FROM THE RULER TRT: 60’ | Four Domes Pavilion By observing selected works of art, the children will learn about geometric abstraction. And by drawing geometric shapes with crayons, they will imagine the ideal gesture, the proper body movement for that particular shape.

Barbara Przerwa | Wrocław, Poland Educator and cultural animator specialised in Dance. Since 1995, she has been an educator at the National Museum in Wrocław. Author of many papers in Art History, and the creator of a series of art games for children (Museum Cat Paths, Museum Mosaic), she also teaches Art & Motion workshops for children and adults. In her educational work she combines art history and expressions with intuitive dance. Based on the collections exhibited at the National Museum in Wrocław and the Four Domes Pavilion, she searches for links between the consciousness of the body and the conscious perception of art.

> MONIKA KRZYSZTOFINSKA: THE MYSTERY OF ABSTRACTION TRT: 90’ | Four Domes Pavilion There are images that do not always appeal to the viewer. They look a little strange, they do not tell stories, there is no form. Sometimes, at first glance, it is completely unknown what all this is about. During the workshops, in relation to the abstract animation festival hosted at CeTA, participants will discover intriguing, colourful, intense works of art. Searching for the invisible, releasing their imagination, and solving puzzles and hidden secrets like true detectives, all these creative tasks await the children at the Four Domes Pavilion.

Nöel Palazzo Screenwriter and novelist. She has directed a couple of internationally awarded short films and also lectures and writes essays as a film critic. Since 2008 she's been a member of the iotaCenter’s Advisory Council (Los Angeles, CA) and coordinator of the Spanish speaking community at the Visual Music Village. She acts as a juror for international film & animation festivals, and has curated special programmes focused on avantgarde animation.

>> International Comunication & Coordination Jasna Čakarun BA in English and Russian Language and Literature, MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience. Works as a freelance translator and editor, and has several years of experience in hospitality, having worked as the Head of Hospitality at various films festivals such as Animateka, the Slovenian Film Festival, and others. Unsurprisingly, she enjoys the arts, languages, music, and people.

CeTA | Center for Audiovisual Technology [Wrocław, Poland] >> Head of Production & Local Communication Monika Łuszpak-Skiba With a background in Fine Arts, Monika has a BA in Cultural Studies from the University of Wrocław. She worked in project development, cultural management, and marketing for various multinational companies. Since 2016, Monika is the project coordinator of the educational department at CeTA (Audiovisual Technology Center) in Wrocław, organising courses and workshops, and implementing training programmes for professionals in new media and the film industry. She occasionally lectures and contributes papers on various art subjects.

Arleta Staszak Arleta holds a master's degree in Journalism and Social Communication from the University of Wrocław. She worked as a senior account executive at Ego Public Relations from 2009-2013, and collaborated in various festivals such as Wro Biennale and New Horizons. Since 2014 she is the PR and Marketing Specialist at CeTA (Audiovisual Technology Center) in Wroclaw, where she handles media relations, internet marketing, and public communication, preparing advertising materials and cooperating with graphic designers and printing houses.

>> Technical Coordinator Dariusz Jackowski Multi-instrumentalist, improviser, and specialist in the field of application of generative systems in music & audio programming. He collaborated with many renowned artists, musicians and composers. He performed, amongst others, in the Musica Polonica Nova, the ISMC World Music Days, and the Avant Art festivals. He is the originator of various types of innovative projects combining music and modern technologies. He works at CeTA in Wrocław, where he continues his research, collaborates with artists, carries out sound synthesis workshops, and conducts improvisational orchestras.
