Amanda Downs of Sandstone earned a 3.7 grade point average or higher for the semester ending in December 2016 and was named to the dean’s list at Gustavus Adolphus College. Sondra Steele of Brook Park and Jenna Miller of Sandstone have received the University of Wisconsin-Stout chancellor’s award for the fall 2016 semester. The award is presented to students who have a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

Lee Delaney Rae Akira Lee was born on Jan. 25, 2017, at FirstLight Health System. She weighed seven pounds, six ounces and was 19-1/2 inches long. Her parents are Felicia Ann Marie Harron and Chad Edward Lee. Delaney is welcomed home by siblings Tabytha Lee, 5, Chad Lee Jr., 4, and Matilyn Lee, 11 months. Her grandparents are Steve (Steph) Harron, Cat (Joe) Leavy and Michael Lee.

Kelsey Eichert of Finlayson, Ashley Johnson of Hinckley and Tiffany Schmidt of Pine City have been named to the Minnesota State University Moorhead dean’s list in recognition of academic achievement fall semester 2016.

Graduate Madeline Groschen, a native of Pine City, received a BA-Cinema; CER-Writing degree from the University of Iowa at the close of the fall 2016 semester.

Alderink Hayli Jo Alderink was born on Jan. 22, 2017, at FirstLight Health System. She weighed seven pounds and was 19 inches long. Her parents are Molly Helmbrecht and Andrew Alderink of Brook Park. Hayli is welcomed by grandparents Wayne and Deb Helmbrect, Julie Alderink and Troy Fasching.
