1. Thickness Thickness of the tablet is a major concern for the pill manufacturers. Hence, the machine gives proper focus on the compaction pressure and the amount of granulation filled in the die. Generally, the tablet’s thickness is affected by the compaction pressure.
2. Weight This is another parameter which is given maximum attention and is determined by the volume of the granular powder filled in the die cavity. If the amount of granulation filled exceeds its optimum limit, it is removed by the machine and pushed into a channel. The channel further restricts the flow of excess material from entering the die. 3. Dwell Time It is defined as the time duration within which the compression roller comes in close contact with the punch head. The machine makes sure that the time remains optimum, in order
to produce high quality pills without any defect.
Keep an Eye on Punch Tooling Maintaining the punches and dies in a proper condition is very important. Hence, you should make sure that the dies and punches are cleaned properly. The die is responsible for the hardness and appearance of the tablets. Hence, checking the condition of the die is really important. If you use a worn die, it would worsen the condition and result into chipping and capping.
