2023 TRENDS FOR THE HOSPITALITY SECTOR

Post-pandemic, 2022 was a year that saw the hospitality industry start to recover and return to profitability. As observers look at 2023, there’s the expectation that things can only improve.

As such, the following trends will be closely watched and assessed for their impact on the industry.

WORK AND TRAVEL BECOME ONE

With remote work increasing and companies allowing employees to “work from anywhere”, there are those who will transition into digital nomads: individuals who move frequently as they work. While their trips are likely to last less than a month, these nomads will often mix business with leisure.

ECO-TRAVEL

Sustainability and eco-friendliness are more than just buzzwords as more people (and travelers) are becoming more attuned to the environmental impact of their travel. A growing number of consumers are trying to make purchasing decisions with environmental considerations kept firmly in mind, and it’s not hard to see this type of consumer also making travel and vacation decisions that take these factors into account.

DIGITAL EXPERIENCES

Immersive technology such as 3D virtual reality is steadily making its way into the travel and hospitality sectors. Features such as virtual exploration of destinations during the booking process may help to close deals while also enriching the actual vacation experience.
