Tues., May 26 Franklin Ashley Quintet The Great American Songbook returns with Piccolo Spoleto Jazz Cruise favorite Franklin Ashley and his Quintet. Aided by two jazz giants in the horn section–Mark Sterbank; tenor sax, and Teddy Adams; trombone–the group will showcase songs by Rodgers and Hart, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, and Jerome Kern as well as classics from Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Miles Davis. Always a Festival highlight, the Quintet features vocals by Becca Hodges, with Rich Robinson; drums and Brian Reed; bass. Don’t miss this boat! Thurs., May 28 Da’rrell and Peace of Mind Band Soulful, passionate, expressive...these are the words most often used to describe Da’rrell Ravenell’s music. Da’rrell is a gifted pianist who has shared his talent with many audiences across the US and abroad. His band, Peace of Mind, is comprised of many talented musicians including, Chris Williams; saxophone, Leroy Alston; bass guitar, Sean Monahan; lead guitar, Harrington Ford; drums, and Christian “Black Diamond” Smalls; vocals.

Sun., May 31 Lonnie Hamilton and John Tecklenburg Jazz Ensemble Featuring vocalist Lyndsey Moynihan, with Steve Berry; trumpet, Jamie Harris; bass, and Gerald “Cameo” Williams; drums. Led by Charleston’s Jazz Ambassador, Lonnie Hamilton III; sax, and John Tecklenburg; piano, this ensemble serves up a swinging good time with a variety of jazz standards and R&B! Tues., June 2 Joe Clarke Quartet Joe Clarke has been entertaining Charleston for over 20 years with his Trio, Quartet and Big Band. Working with many of Charleston’s best Jazz musicians, the band plays great jazz standards, as Joe follows in the footsteps of the great Crooners: Sinatra, Bennett, and Martin. Thurs., June 4 Daniel D. & Urban Instrumentalist Band Contemporary violinist Daniel D’s passion is to reach fans of all backgrounds, ages, and genres, who love good music with a unique instrumental twist. His Urban Instrumentalist Band is composed of some of the top musicians on the East Coast and their program features music from Grover Washington to Usher, and everything inbetween.
