State U announces scholarship opening for agri students By: Danilo E. Doguiles KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato -- Government-run University of Southern Mindanao in Kabacan, North Cotabato today announced the opening of scholarship slots for students pursuing Bachelor of Science in Agriculture or agriculture- related courses.

Dr. Adeflor Garcia, dean of the state university’s College of Agriculture, told Philippine Information Agency 12 that six scholarship slots are allotted for USM in the Gawad Patnubay Scholarship Program of the International Rice Research Institute and the Landbank of the Philippines. “The Gawad Patnubay Scholarship Program is open to dependents of active members of cooperatives of small farmers and fisherfolk currently being assisted by Landbank or Landbank Countryside Development Foundation Inc., as well as dependents of agrarian reform beneficiaries or agrarian reform communities,” Garcia explained.
