that will help parents and students alike who need assistance, especially that volume of students are coming in their schools, as the implementation of the K to 12 program commences this school year. Most of the heads and principals of public schools here said that so far, they have not encountered any problem yet in the implementation of the said program because they are all prepared for its implementation this year. Dr. Aida Abad, principal of the Butuan City School of Arts and Trades (BCSAT) said their school facilities are already prepared for today’s opening of classes. She added all classrooms

were already in place because of the conduct of Brigada Eskwela held two weeks ago. However, Abad said they might need additional teachers to accommodate students in the K to 12 program. She added they are still finalizing the number of students officially enrolled so that the division office here can take action on the shortage of teachers and classrooms. Also, Ricky Collado, school principal of Butuan Central Elementary School (BCES) shared the same sentiments with Abad. He said the school has a previous enrollment of some 5,000 students. To date, Collado said an increase of some five percent was noted this school year. “With this, there is really a need to have additional classrooms and teachers in order to decongest the number of students we have in every classroom,” Collado said. Meanwhile, Police Regional Office (PRO-13) Regional Director PCSupt. Reynaldo Rafal has also enforced all police officers in the region to uphold peace and security in the region.
