Task Force Pawikan releases 147 newlyhatched marine turtles in Magsaysay town by Madridano-Thiam

ask Force Pawikan recently released 147-hatched marine turtles in barangay Kandiis, in Magsaysay town, Misamis Oriental. This was done during the recent gathering of the task force held in Magsaysay which focused its discussion on the capability enhancement of its members, through an educational trip to Morong, Bataan to observe and learn from the marine turtle nesting site management in the area. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), through the Protected Areas and Wildlife Division (PAWD), took the opportunity after the release to inspect the newly-established marine turtle hatchery in the area.

The hatchery is jointly funded by the DENR and the Municipal LGU of Magsaysay. Task Force Pawikan, meanwhile, was organized by DENR through the Protected Areas and Wildlife Division (PAWD).
