Climbers, energy foundation launch H4L in Bukidnon

ore than 80 households in offgrid communities along the mountain trails were lighted through the program Hike for Light (H4L) 2011 by the Solar Energy Foundation (SEF) and the Kaya ng Pinoy Foundation (KPF) mountaineering society. SEF Program Manager Chinie Canivel said the solar lamps which were given free are designed to be carried to remote locations where electricity is not available. “It is suitable for all seasons and can be carried safely to any remote location. Its panels will maximize the capture of the sun’s rays,” Canivel said during the lamp use and management orientation and turnover ceremony with the Daraghoyan tribal settlers at the foot of the mountain. The group visited the province recently and climbed Mt. Dulang-dulang in Kitanglad Nature Park. 24
