The Local Government Code mandates all the local government units to conduct their own barangay general assembly to discuss the problems and projects for the community. The barangay conducted its first General Assembly last April, 2013. The program started with a welcome address by Barangay councilor Henry C. Buque. Barangay chairman Kim A. Asis then reported to his constituents the various projects implemented by the council from health, economic development, infrastructure projects to four public schools, medical and burial services.
During the open forum, purok presidents suggested various projects and programs to be implemented with the approval of the Barangay Council. Also, issues on drugs, garbage collection and disposal, among others were raised. Chairman Asis then thanked all his constituents who attended the event. To date, Barangay Poblacion is one of the most populous barangays in the province. According to Barangay Secretary Maria Estela T. Paring, Barangay Poblacion has a total population of 19, 849 and subdivided in 30 puroks.
