With the theme “Advancing Entrepreneurial Paradigms,” the GSC-SMEDCI has lined up various activities for the appreciation of entrepreneurs coming from the different regions of the country and even abroad. Featuring in this event are two new concepts of enhancing the celebration of YG such as the 1st MSME Regional Congress and MSME Going Global Conference. Rosanna Bernadette Contreras, newly-sworn president of GSCSMEDCI said that they are considered major events of the 12th Yaman Gensan, which literally means Yabong Maliliit na Negosyo sa GenSan. She hopes that the 1st MSME Regional Congress which is scheduled on June 17-18 at KCC Convention Center here will all the more strengthen the status of MSME business environment in Region 12. The SMEDCI-led regional congress carries the theme “Yabong Maliit na Negosyo sa Rehiyon 12.” It will feature well-versed speakers to discuss various government’s MSME development initiatives both at the local and national arenas so that participating stakeholders will have better grasp of them. Contreras revealed that topics to be discussed include the overview of MSMEs in Region 12, the RA 9178Barangay micro Business Enterprise: The Law and Its Application and the JUNE2014 | www.pia.gov.ph

Local Government Units Initiatives in Support of MSME Development, the Social Media and MSMEs. Also to be tackled are the Financing Options for MSMEs, the Notre Dame Business Resource Center Foundation, Inc. Initiatives and the MSMEs, GSC SMEDCI and the MSMEs and the Industry Updates: Opportunities, Challenges, Issues and Concerns. Meanwhile, the MSME Going Global Conference is another highlight which banners the theme, “Turning MSMEs and Farmers into Exporters.” It will also be held at the same convention on June 2021. Partnering with Southmin Fairtrade Network, Incorporated (SFNI), SMEDCI is confident that this event will turnout successful considering that this is timely touching on the cornerstone of “global market integration and competition.” “This aims to educate participants on global market integration and competition, build stronger networks among producers, buyers and development partners to include crafting sound policies toward improving the status of MSMEs in the region,” Fermin Rivas, SFNI board of director on special projects and MSME Going Global Conference director, sounded off.
