the river. The following morning, only his boat, saddle and hat were seen by the searching neighbors and barangay officials. Two years ago, a ten-year old girl, saddling her boat from the floating school, was attacked by a giant crocodile in Lake Mihaba, just

“JYES Kontra Droga” launched in Surigao del Sur by Ernie Y. Gultiano SURIGAO DEL SUR, September 5 -- The Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) of Surigao del Sur recently launched the “JYES Kontra Droga” campaign to fight the proliferation of illegal drugs. With the theme, “Get Involved, Act Now!” the activity was graced by Usec. Jose Gutierrez, Jr., the Director General of PDEA, and Ms. Alma Concepcion, beauty queen and actress as guest speakers of the occasion. It was also participated in by Mayors, Vice Mayors, Punong Barangays, SK Federated Presidents, Students, National and Local Government Agen-
cies, and Non-Government Organizations in the province. “This activity signals our fight against illegal drugs in the Province of Surigao del Sur,” said Vicente H. Pimentel III, the Vice Chair of PADAC. The government, he added, is serious in its campaign to address the core of the problem and eventually make Surigao del Sur a drug-free province.
The PADAC is chaired by Governor Johnny T. Pimentel. The “JYES Kontra Droga” aims to implement its 10 (JYES) point agenda against drug abuse.
