DOLE declares 43 NegOcc. barangays child labor-free

he Department of Labor and Employment certified the following ABK3 LEAP partner barangays as child labor-free: Dian-ay, Escalante; Mabini, Escalante; Sag-ang, La Castellana; Nato, La Castellana; Camandag, La Castellana; Guinpana-an, Moises Padilla; Crossing Magallon, Moises Padilla; Magallon Cadre, Moises Padilla; Brgy. 6, Moises Padilla; San Pablo, Manapla; Purisima, Manapla; Punta Mesa, Manapla; Tortosa, Manapla; Brgy. 12, Victorias City; Brgy. 13, Victorias City; Brgy. 8, Victorias City; Brgy. 10, Victorias City; Vista Alegre, Bacolod City; Granada, Bacolod City; Cabug, Bacolod City; Felisa, Bacolod City; Ilijan, Bago City; Mailum, Bago City; Ma-ao, Bago City; Dulao, Bago City; Binubuhan, Bago City; Bacong, Bago City; San Miguel, Murcia; Lopez Jaena, Murcia; Salvacion,

Luna, Toboso; Magticol, Toboso; and, Tabun-ac, Toboso. These barangays are given priority access to DOLE‟s programs and services such as the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Program (DILEEP). According to ABK3 LEAP Project Director Daphne Culanag, Negros Occidental has the most child labor-free barangays certified by DOLE. To be certified as a Child Labor Free-Barangay (CLFB), barangays enrolled under the campaign must have a regularly

updated profile or database of children, policies and programs with budget allocation to support identified child laborers, a functional Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC), the commitment of teachers and parents to monitor school attendance and engagement of children in child labor, and partnership with government agencies and civil society organizations. The CLFB certification is valid for 3 years, upon which it is subject for revalidation. Meanwhile, the Provincial Council for the Rights and Welfare of Children unanimously passed a resolution adopting the Child Monitoring System extending even to cities and municipalities not covered by the ABK3 LEAP project with an initial allocation of P100,000. *(JSC/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occidental)

Pag-IBIG Fund requires employers to remit payments online By Lilibeth A. French ILOILO CITY, June 21 (PIA6) - - Pag-IBIG Fund now requires all concerned private and government employers to start paying their remittances online.

s. Gina P. Lanceta, branch head of Pag-IBIG Fund Molo Branch, said they will no longer accept over the counter payment of membership savings and short term loan amortizations from government and private employers with at least ten employees beyond July 31 as mandated by Pag-IBIG Fund Circular No. 355. The said circular requires all covered employers to remit their payment online using the Electronic Payment and Collection Facility (EPCF) platform adopted by the agency in partnership with its 13 accredited banks. The accredited banks include Landbank,

Union Bank, BPI, Security Bank, Metrobank, China Bank, CTBC Bank, RCBC, Asia United Bank, EastWest Bank, Citi Bank, Development Bank of the Philippines and Philippine National Bank. The implementation of the circular is in compliance with Republic Act No. 8792 or otherwise known as E-Commerce Act of 2000 that mandates government offices and agencies engaged in the acceptance of payments to accept and acknowledge payments, among others using electronic data messages systems. She said this move is also part of the agency‟s thrust to make the payment of membership savings and short term loan

amortization accessible, convenient, efficient and faster for employers. Tanco thanks PPOC members By Jemin B. Guillermo ROXAS CITY, Capiz, June 23 (PIA6) - Governor Victor Tanco thanked the members of the Provincial Peace and Order Council for the partnership that brought peace and development to Capiz.

n the June 22 meeting, Tanco said that the accomplishments that his administration has achieved in terms of bringing peace and development is a concerted effort of all the member agencies. Tanco, who chairs the Capiz PPOC, will end his nine-year governorship by 12 noon of June 30, 2016. “The peace and development that we are experiencing today is a partnership effort, particularly with the all-out support of the Philippine Army and the Philippine National

Police. According to him, the peace effort should be led by the civilian just like progress in the province that is also spearheaded by the private sector. Earlier, the Philippine Army and Philippine National Police have declared Capiz as peaceful and ready for development. For Capiz Police Provincial Director Robert Rodriguez, Governor Tanco was an inspiration for the PNP to sincerely do their task especially in the campaign against illegal drugs and criminality.

“He has given his all-out support to the Capiz police in all our endeavors, which we are very thankful for,” Rodriguez said. Other agencies like the Philippine Army, Department of Education, Philippine Information Agency and private organization, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and Bureau of Fire Protection have likewise extended their words of gratitude and appreciation for the good leadership of Governor Tanco in the PPOC.
