Art Caffè was born because Alessio Cocchi, the artist/owner, had been searching endlessly for a venue around Nai Harn where he could stop and tastefully enjoy his passions. He decided to open his own venue and choose to present it in a way that expresses both himself and his interests. He also hopes his creations will satisfy others, looking for something different, simple and pleasant. Stepping into Art Caffe is like entering into a world of art where

everything has been taken care of attentively, and you will feel this as soon as you walk inside. Alessio is Italian born and is a professional photographer. His name is known throughout the fashion world having worked for clients such as Gucci, Ferragamo and Valentino. The owner, who fell in love with the art of light and shadow, has made Art Caffe a gallery showcasing his works, and is currently home to his ‘symmetry’ collection. However, Alessio told us that this collection
will be replaced with cultural shots he has captured from around the country in the near future. Sipping a cup of coffee here is a distinct and unique experience, being amongst art created by a world class professional. Art Caffe prides itself on serving the island’s best illy Italian coffee, as well as daily fresh baked croissants and a selection of homemade bakery items. Alessio hopes that Art Caffe will become a place where regulars will come to enjoy a relaxing breakfast, lunch or dinner, or simply enjoy the surroundings and atmosphere Arte Caffe has to offer. Art Caffe serves salads, cold dishes, Italian aperitif cuts, sandwiches and American breakfasts. As for drinks, in addition to illy coffee, they will be happy to serve you fruit shakes, beers, cocktails and red or white wine to accompany your food.
Alessio is open to displaying creative pieces that will inspire others. Should any artist wish to exhibit their work or organize an event, they are welcome to contact Alessio for more information. Art Caffe is more than a cafe, it is an inspiring space dedicated to aesthetics. If you are drawn by Alessios’s style of imagery, his exhibition can now be seen at Burasari Hotel in Patong. The profits of any pictures sold will be donated to Phuket Sunshine Village Foundation. Thai, Western Cuisine and Piano Bar Previously known as Baan Yin Dee, the restaurant has now been renamed RICE. The changed name gave the restaurant a more unique and clearer definition on the character of the restaurant. RICE’s new menu offers authentic Thai dishes as well as favorite western cuisine with inspiring Asian flavor. RICE is part of Baan Yin Dee Boutique Resort perched on the hillside a few minutes away from Patong beach. A fraction of time will let you escape from the crowds for while. RICE’s position allows you to dine without any constructions obstructing your vision, therefore allowing you to appreciate 180 degree panoramic Restaurant Preview 26
views of Patong Bay from a height. The restaurant is ideal for those seeking a fine dining experience with the bonus of unique and stunning views. The restaurant is positioned under a Thai style pavilion situated next to the swimming pool, with a landscaped garden and water feature on the other side. RICE is airy and features a contemporary Thai style interior featuring wooden fixtures and rattan furniture together with Thai arts and crafts inserted throughout. For the upcoming season, Chef Phuntarik has come up with some new dishes for the menu, so those who have been before are ensured to have some treats to experience.
To get your appetite going, as a starter you may consider Soft Shell Crab served with Pomelo Salad. A wonderful combination of crispness from the crab and refreshing pomelo with a hint of citrus. Or if you are not a fan of soft shell crab, King Prawn & Banana Blossom Salad maybe your answer. A classic Thai dish with a modern twist, deep fried banana blossom tossed with toasted coconut and fried shallots matches the succulent king prawn. Mellow roasted chili paste dressing adds an interesting taste and aroma to the dish. For main courses, selection varies from light Mediterranean fare to classic French cuisine, such as Grilled Tuna Steak with Lemon-Herb Aioli, pepper crusted tuna steak served on bed of sauteed capsicum with warm potato and sun-dried tomato salad or Pan-roasted Duck Breast with Blackcurrent Glaze. Seasoned duck breast pan grilled until its skin is crispy and then baked to medium-well done. Black Current sauce enhances the duck’s flavor with its natural sweet and sourness. Pad Thai is also another top selling.
The Chef guarantees its authenticity and we affirm its deliciousness. RICE also offers a tempting selection of desserts, with most being served with the renowned Mövenpick Ice Cream. A popular choice is Chocolate Fondant, molten lava chocolate cake with strawberry sauce and caramel freshly baked to order. Otherwise order Malibu Pineapple, a sweet treat with a hint of Phuket, as Phuket Pineapples are used in the dish. RICE is open from 6.00 am – 11.00 pm (last order at 10.30 pm), with live music entertainment every night from early evening.

Located on the ninth level of the Condo Sky Inn on Rat-U-Thit 200 Pee Road, The 9th Floor Restaurant is the highest open-air restaurant in Patong. Even while in one of the busiest tourist districts of Phuket, you can have a peaceful and romantic dining experience high above all the hustle and bustle. You’re in the restaurant as soon as you step off the elevator and will be greeted cheerfully by staff who will guide you to comfortable seating. The restaurant’s interior features a dominant black color scheme with

The restaurant offers about 70 seats so as not to affect the tranquility and privacy for a memorable night. You’ll be able to take in the fresh ocean breeze as the restaurant’s sliding glass doors are kept open. Take a deep breath and let the clean air take away your worries and freshen your appetite before you indulge in a savory gastronomic experience.
The 9th Floor menu comprises wide choices of Mediterranean cuisine, Alpine cuisine and selected Thai dishes. To complete your dinner, The 9th Floor also stocks a comprehensive wine list of over 280 labels from different wine producers around the world such as France, Italy, Chile, Spain, etc. Ask for a recommendation of which would go well with your dishes. Wines are on display in the impressive wine cellar. At the 9th Floor, food is not just about taste but also a matter of presentation. Cuisine should also be a feast for the eyes. Beyond the quality ingredients guaranteeing freshness and taste that is above standard, diners can expect fantastic presentation pleasant to the eyes and supreme attention to detail. Recommended dishes include Cordon Bleu. You can choose whether to have pork, chicken or veal
breaded in this delicacy. The classic dish is filled with molten Swiss Emmental cheese and ham fried to crispy golden brown. Meat lovers should never miss the seared baked filet mignon which is served on potato gnocchi in blue cheese. The meat is sweet, tender and juicy served with baked spinach. To end the perfect meal, you may want a sweet treat. Banana fritter with vanilla ice cream or chocolate fondue with fresh fruit are among the choices. The restaurant is open daily from 5pm, last order at 10.30 pm. Reservations are recommended, especially during high season.

Dine Right among the action Laimai Restaurant has a wonderfully convenient location, sitting right next to Patong beach road. The restaurant is not recommended for those who seek privacy, but if you are hunting for energetic dining, Laimai is certainly the place. The restaurant offers you views of Patong beach, which becomes more stunning at sunset and after the night falls. Choose between dining in the open-sided restaurant, with its

simple decor or opt to dine on the terrace, under the trees and stars and where there is room for over a hundred guests or more. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant leans toward a more casual dining experience rather than elegant fine dining. Now onto the food, Laimai Restaurant offers a wide selection of Thai and International seafood dishes. If you approach on foot, you cannot help but notice its large seafood display in
front of the venue. If you have no idea what you want for dinner, stop by as this may help you decide what you should treat yourself to, whether it be the renowned Phuket lobster, crab, squid, oyster, fish etc. Besides its range of seafood, that can be cooked any way you chose, Laimai is especially proud of its beef dishes, which is a paradise for meat lovers. You may want to try its Surf and Turf, grilled tender beef and tiger prawn on a bed of grilled polenta with onion, tomato, pineapple and flambéd with aged cognac, or imported New Zealand Beef Tenderloin Fillet flamed with aged Cognac. Do leave some space for desserts as a final treat. There’s a fabulous selection for those with a sweet tooth including crème caramel and banana fritters to name a few. To complement the food, Laimai Restaurant also boasts a bar serving a wide range of
cocktails, wines and beers. The special night here is Thursday as it provides diners with entertainment. In case you miss it, no worries, there is a live band and singers to entertain you each and every night. With its idyllic location, you will still be able to get into Patong’s vibrant nightlife as soon as you walk out of the restaurant if you think the night is still young. An authentic Thai Charming & authentic Thai cuisine awaits you at Kantok restaurant at Burasari Hotel, situated in the heart of Patong. The restaurant with its Thai-Lanna architecture makes for a great casual and comfortable dining experience. Two air conditioned sections are separated by an open kitchen, and feature metal leaf and Europeandesigned tiled panels as a focal point. There is also a wine cellar housing a variety of white and red wines from around the world.

An opened air section is kept cool with its roof fans spinning over head, and dinner can be enjoyed from the comfort of a swing bench or a rattan sofa and table. Its bar also feature beautifully crafted wooden chairs where you can sit, relax and enjoy a drink prior to or after dinner. The friendly staff provides warm hospitality and treat you as though they have known you a lifetime. For those who are not experimental when it comes to Thai food we would recommend the popular and
probably best known Thai dish, Pad Thai. These stir fried noodles are served with bean sprouts and chopped peanuts and the flavour and spiciness can be adapted to your liking with the addition of chilli powder and other Thai condiments. For those a little more adventurous, we would recommend ‘Red Curry with Roasted Duck’ served with steamed rice, and Kantok’s Chef will adapt the dish to suit your palette. The method used to cook the duck is a well kept secret and you will find that it is a lot more tender than usual.
Kantok offers a wide variety of cocktails to finish the evening and we would recommend their vodka cocktail, Burasari Cosmo.
Some other interesting dishes are lobster with dried curry and deep fried fish cake, and we really suggest you give these a try. As for desserts, complement your evening with Kantok’s special “Red Rubby” or “Coconut Pie with Vanilla ice cream”.
