The engagement is a special time for couples. This phase in your relationship can often get overlooked, because you become SO excited about your wedding! Remember that this is a special phase along your journey as a couple. You will only be engaged once! Why do engagements? Engagement photos are fabulous! First, it allows you to get some awesome and amazing photos of you as a couple. Secondly, we are able to document the engagement period of your lives that is so, so special. It also gives us the opportunity to get to know each other while working with the camera. Engagements give you a sneak peek into the way we work and how your photos will go on your wedding day.

Marriage:

The getting ready portion of your day is one of our all-time favorites! This is the time where we photograph your wedding dress, shoes and any cool details you might have. (Jewelry, flowers, etc.) During this time, we also get many candid images of both the ladies and gentleman getting ready for the big event. Eliesa always stays with the bridal party while one of her assistants goes along with the guys during this time. This way, absolutely every moment is captured!
Getting Ready
While photographing your wedding day, it is super important for us to simply spend some time with you, the bride and groom! All family and friends aside, we enjoy taking some time to go off by ourselves and create some amazing images. During this time, don’t be afraid to love on each other in front of the camera — this is your wedding day. Show your love, be intimate and goof off! This is your day, this is your time, and these are your photos!
Bride and Groom
The wedding party is made up of some of the most important people in your life. This is the perfect opportunity to get some stunning images with you and all of these close friends. During this time, we love to simply hang out with you and walk around your venue and other locations. Our process is very organic; we get inspired by coming into a new space and seeing what the light has to offer. We absolutely promise you amazing pictures! Of course, if you have any specific ideas or locations, we would love to hear them.
The Party
Family photos are an essential part of your wedding day! As boring as they may seem, they are some of the most important images of the entire day. We will work with you to create a portrait list for this time. This is a simple list of all the family photos you would like. This helps things run quickly and efficiently on the big day. You will also get all family photos in both color and black and white.
Family
Here it is. At this moment, you are getting married! Our philosophy while shooting your ceremony is to step back and watch the magic happen! Eliesa will be in front while the bride comes down the aisle, but then retreat back and capture everything with the big lens and wide angles. This is your moment!
Ceremony
We love a fabulous reception. You have spent months making your event perfect and the day is going to fly by, so it is our job to capture all of the details for you to look back on. During the cocktail hour, we will go into your reception before anyone arrives and photograph your tables, arrangements and any other super cool little details you might have. A good candid is a great photo! During your cocktail hour and reception, we will go around and take candid shots of all your guests mingling and having a fabulous time.
The Details
You are officially Mr. and Mrs. and now it is time to celebrate! We will continue to focus on the candid moments during your dinner and speeches. Then it is time to tear up the dance floor! Your photography during your dance will last around 45 minutes. This is the perfect amount of time to get your first dances and a few of the open dance floor. We love it when couples let loose and show us their moves!

The Reception
Now it is time for us to work our magic on the production side. We will have a post up on our blog the following week after your wedding, so you will have some instant gratification and fabulous photos to share with your friends and family! For your complete edit, you can expect everything online around 4-6 weeks after the big day. Color correction is very important to us. While we are shooting your wedding, there is a specific vision of how we want your images to turn out. We have big dreams for your pictures! To achieve that unique look that drew you to Photogen Inc.’s work, our in-house color corrector, Liz, will work along with Eliesa to make sure every image is stunning.
Color Correction
A wedding album is something to be handed down for generations to come. We will work with you to create the amazing story of your day, told through our images. Your finished album will come with 30-40 images. We help you by choosing 50 album ‘selects’. These are the top 50 photos that we think will work well in your album design. You tell us what your top 30 images are from the list of 50 and that is what we design your album with. Once your layout is designed, we will e-mail you proofs to approve. Once we have confirmed your design, we will send it off to print. All albums take about 4-6 weeks to arrive. The possibilities are endless when designing your album. For your cover, you can choose from several leather options or upgrade to a metal cover. The binding of our albums is rock solid and hand-bound to ensure a long life.
