1926-30 Perf ‘OS’ Set of 14 complete SG #O97-111 (retail c$415) with both shades 1½d red, both 2d red and 3d blue dies. All neat postal cds ex corner CTO ½d, 5d and 1/4d. Key 4½d has appearance of a dry ink. (14) 424 U A/A- Varieties with cds ex noted comprising ½d orange x3 shades [8L7] (part slogan cancel), [8R27], [9L60]; 1d green x2, first states [VI/21], [VII/37] (machine slogan); off-centre 2d red-brown Perf ‘OS’ x2, [6R9] and [16R60] cat $150 each; 4d greenish olive [4R60]. Some difficult varieties here, min cat $565. (8) 425 **/* A/A- ½d to 1/4d set of eight, SG #85-93, retail c$1500, mainly well-centred and fresh (surprisingly the 1d green is the other perf, and faulty too, so not counted). ½d Orange wmk inverted marginal block of 9 from base of sheet, four units with small blemishes, a little perf separation. ½d Orange perf ‘OS’ right interpanneau marginal single, BW #67ba, Cat $200 (POR in most retail lists). Plus 1d green and 1½d scarlet BW #80ba & 91bb. (3) A A1 ½d Orange perf ‘OS’ pair right unit with cut in left wattles and top of crown [8R10], BW #67ba, Cat $280+. A B1 1d Green block of 4 from Pane VII with three major varieties wattle line (hardly visible, probably partly fixed by make-ready) and nick near top of left frame both *, flaw under neck - State II retouched and adjacent unit **, BW #80(4)f,g,ha, Cat $250+. Strong colour, very good block. A/B B1 1d Green fresh block of 4 [VII/31-32,37-38] (some separation) with three major varieties wattle line - state II, tick in LVT VII/31 cat $125, nick top of left frame VII/32 (small tear at top), flaw under neck - state III re-entry VII/37 cat $250, minor variety projection on ‘Y’ of ‘PENNY’ VII/38. Strong colour, BW #80(4)fa,g,hb, Cat c$400 (as singles).
