I chose 9th Street because I like it and I believe it’s coming back. This was the main drag for all the Italian immigrants. Not being born here, I learned the history of South Philly. My wife is from South Philly. My father-in-law, Judge Anthony DeFino, gave me my first job right out of law school. I was married at the time and his daughter Rose Marie married someone else; eventually we both divorced. It was a number of years before we got together. We’re now married 8½ years. We’re still like newlyweds and we always will be. That is how I feel about my wife. She’s extraordinary.
