Master Winemaker John Patane was in the crowd, and also author Ralph Cipriani, whose book Garigista, which translates to “garage” and can be bought at Fante’s on 9th Street, chronicles his 16-year adventures in winemaking. After this successful tasting, I must say I prefer my beverages fermented. They are nutritious, psychotropic, and in all probability advanced Western Civilization due to their powerful effects on life and love.

Olympic Medalist To Tour Local Murals Philadelphia-area native and Olympic medalist Allison Baver on a tour of Philadelphia murals! Allison, fresh off a bronze-medal speedskating performance in Vancouver, will join guests on a two-hour tour of storied Philadelphia murals painted by nationally renowned artists. Going Green State Rep. Kenyatta Johnson hosts Go Green Forum and Neighborhood Clean Up on Saturday.

Volunteers are needed on Saturday, for an annual spring tree planting! Over 35 new trees will be planted in the neighborhood as part of Lower Moyamesning Civic Assoiaition’s Tree Day.
