The present Speedmaster is one of a limited series of watches made in 1998 to commemorate the historic Apollo VIII mission – which was launched on December 21, 1968. The watch is ftted with a special dial displaying the Apollo VIII mission badge in the subsidiary dial at 9 o’clock.
