In 2012 Urwerk launched the titanium UR-210 wristwatch with “Winding Efciency Indicator”, a technical advancement indicating the amount of power added to the mainspring as the rotor moved. Rather than measure mainspring torque, it measured over a two-hour period the consumed and generated energy of the mainspring so the indicator was in the green sector when active and in the red sector when sedentary.

By tracking this activity level, the winding rotor would either speed up or slow down insuring a constant level of power to the mainspring. The system could be manually adjusted via a switch on the case back so the efciency could either be increased (Full), decreased (Reduced) or rotor is disabled (Stop). Automatic winding systems can be weakened overtime due to excessive rotation or extreme forces the winding efciency system helps to mitigate these forces. The present model, UR-210 Black Hawk was released in 2014 and while similar to the original the watch is now with black DLC coated titanium.
