stay connected... experience. Katrina also reports that she “attended the Association of American Indian Physicians (AAIP) conference, where I met a physician who graduated from PA’s Mathematics and Science for Minority Students (MS)2 program.” She adds, “We talked a lot about Andover and her career path. The AAIP conference had more Native American physicians gathered in one place than I have ever seen, which inspired me to stay on my path toward becoming a neurosurgeon.” This past fall term, Katrina took a neurobiology course with Geoffrey Tanner, a former PA biology instructor (who taught her while at PA). This spring semester, she planned to “have the time of her life” studying for the MCAT. Good luck to her and all the ’12ers who are in the midst of medical, law, and other graduate school applications. Minali Mohindra and Claudia Shin lived together last summer, studying and working in LA. They’re both excited to be staying in the LA area post-graduation. Also over the summer, James Lim had a reunion in NYC with Gabo Cordero Fuentes, Kian Ivey, Kastle Jones, Colby McBride, and Khalil Blassingame. James is capping off his senior year at Harvard by serving as captain of the track & field team, training and competing with Allison Morrison. We wish them the best of luck in their last college season! Will Poss doesn’t need our luck in his athletic season; he recently helped the Amherst College men’s soccer team win the DIII national championship. He described the experience as “pretty cool,” which seems like a huge understatement. Katie Ellinger headed down to New Haven, Conn., this fall to watch the Harvard-Yale game with Claudia Shin and Melissa Wattana. Katie Benvenuti and Andrew Schlager have been avidly exploring foreign and local cuisines. This past fall, Katie reports, they “took a dive into the world of cooking!” She goes on to say: “Together we have developed our skills and are starting to compile recipes. While we only share with friends and family right now, we hope to share our flavorful creations with the world!” I look forward to trying one of their dishes! In the world of academics, Nicholas Camarda was the co-first author of a paper just published in the Pacific Symposium on Biocomputing’s journal, about his research on uncharacterized gene variant enrichment in glial cancer subtypes. He said, “I was the only undergrad at the conference held in Hawaii in January, and I got to present a poster on my findings!” Kelsey Jamieson and Collin Benedict explored the wonders of Paris together for the month of January. Collin was attending Paris Diderot University–Paris 7 for a yearlong exchange, and Kelsey did a mini internship at AirLiquide. At the end of the school year, Kelsey will be heading to Beijing to earn a master’s degree in public policy. Over her spring break last year, Supriya Jain also visited Paris and dined under the Eiffel Tower with

Hannah Beinecke and Chena Farhat. This June, Danny Gottfried is moving to Moldova for 27 months to serve as a secondary education English teacher in the Peace Corps. In this awesome experience, he’ll be using Russian, which he studied at PA, and learning Romanian. In his e-mail, Danny emphasized that he looks forward to making the trip back for our reunion in 2017! As for your class secretaries, Miranda Haymon is looking forward to graduation and directing her own adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut’s SlaughterhouseFive, a novel she first read in English 300 with Mr. Bird. Lauren Howard is excited to return to the Northeast after graduation to teach in NYC for two years with Teach for America. Our Fifth Reunion is creeping closer each day, and all of the class secretaries are looking forward to seeing you there! Yours in blue. —Miranda, Lauren, and Sydney

Haonan Li visited Gabbi Fisher over Thanksgiving break, and they enjoyed a fun Thanksgiving dinner and much-needed reunion with Andries Feder and Catalina Feder ’15, followed by a fine game of mini golf at H Street Country Club in DC. Gabbi spent her fall quarter interning at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and realizing her passion for cybersecurity. During fall break, Christiana Nguyen drove with Ian Sigal ’12 and Alex Smith ’12 from Cornell to Boston, where she stayed with her Andover roommates, Diondra Peck and Unwana Abasi, at Harvard. While there, she visited Lydia Godo-Solo, Samuel Green, Caroline Gutierrez, and Zach Merchant. Sam has stopped rowing for Harvard but says he “still lifts, though.” While traveling, Christiana was stranded in NYC and stayed with Jing Qu in her dorm at Columbia. She also briefly saw M.J. Engel. Later in the fall, Christiana raced with Alex and Ben Hawley ’15 at the Princeton 3-Mile Chase, where she reunited with former crew teammates Franco D’Agostino, Amanda Chatupron-Lacayo, Cooper Hurley ’14, Jake Rauh ’14, Marc Sevastopoulo ’15, and her favorite coach, Dale Hurley. Before going home for break, she stayed with Erin Wong at Barnard and got the chance to catch up with

Nikita Singareddy and Charlie Walters ’10. Devon Burger watched the Andover-Exeter football game with several Andover and Exeter alumni, including Justin Appleby. During winter break, Abby Chung, Alex Donovan, Emily Field, Gina Sawaya, Nalyn Yim, Rhea Lewis, Malynna Mam, and Devon met up to celebrate Alex’s 21st birthday and the New Year in New Hampshire. James Garth spent the fall quarter studying in Beijing. James Hunter and Emily McKinnon became classmates again, this time at the Stockholm School of Economics. They had a lot of fun reminiscing and making memories all over Stockholm. James taught English at a local school, spent too much time and money eating kanelbullar (cinnamon rolls), and traveled all over Europe, including to Finland, Norway, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Belgium, and Spain. In Austria, James met up with Wayu Niederhauser, PA’s German teaching fellow from 2012 to 2013, at a pastry shop in Vienna. Jing Qu is excited to intern at the Whitney Museum of American Art next semester. Angela Batuure and M.J. bought matching Pikachu onesies as roommates at Columbia.

Since transferring to Tufts, Renee LaMarche has continued her ROTC education at MIT as part of the Paul Revere Battalion. Cat Haseman spent her fall semester in Arlington, Va., working at the Cedars, which is a short-term host home for international diplomats who are in DC for business. Cat, Sophia Lloyd-Thomas, and Alec Kingston cooked dinner and caught up at Alec’s Georgetown dorm. Kai Kornegay directed her very first production, for colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow is enuf, which had two sold-out shows! Just before her show, she visited Robert Rush and Natalie Kim at Harvard. Doris Nyamwaya visited Mikaela Rabb for the Harvard-Yale game. Robert wowed audiences as Bobo in A Raisin in the Sun. Esther Cohen recently snagged an internship with Kerrigan-Lowdermilk,
