www.andover.edu/intouch Molly Ozimek-Maier recently moved to Clifton, Va., with her daughter, C.J., and became a patient coordinator at a dental practice. This past November, she hung out with Marina Warsaw-Fan and Karen Schoenherr in Brooklyn. Emma Wood married a poet she met at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, from which she will graduate this spring. Katharine Matsumoto reunited with Colleen Thurman and Michaella Chung in San Francisco this past December for Katharine’s birthday. Colleen was out there also celebrating her recent engagement to her longtime boyfriend, Andy. A.J. Charles is still crushing it. After dating for seven years, Trevor Sanders and Katie Morris got engaged this past October. They bought a house in Medford, Mass., over the summer and took a brief break from fixing it up to spend most of January and February in Hong Kong (for work) and Japan (for fun). Trevor is starting a master’s degree program in computer science, with the goal of being able to build more robots. Katie has been working in the same department as (and usually sitting next to) Veronika Kamenova at Liberty Mutual Insurance for the past four years—something she calls “one of the best, most unexpected perks of my job!” Katie and Trevor also see lots of Andover friends in the Boston area, most frequently Addison Godine, Dave Curtis, Katy Ebbert, Kit Harris, Steph Marton, and Sam Gould. Sam continues his march up the professional squash world rankings. Recently he competed in the Tournament of Champions in NYC, where he had quite the cheering session. In attendance were Alex Schwartz, Lou Tejada ’08, Zach Dixon ’08, Simon Keyes ’06, Will Walter ’03, and Sophia Walter ’01. Andrew Faulkner will be moving back to Boston soon, as he begins attending Harvard Business School as a member of the Class of 2018. Giacomo Chiaro started his residency training in neurology in Switzerland as of February. It is a six-year program in which he will be able to move around to different hospitals in different Swiss cities. Stacey Middlebrook is now Stacey Spurr after getting married in August at Lake Winnipesaukee, N.H. She went on a honeymoon to French Polynesia and is pursuing a master’s degree in real estate development at MIT. In attendance at Stacey’s wedding was a good group of ’07ers, including Adrienne Sabety, Justin Waite, Andrew Faulkner, Sarah Dewey, Eliot Wall, Carolyn Pollard, Dawson Joyce-Mendive, Devon Zimmerling, Pia Heilmann, and Shay Paintal. Steve Farquhar moved to Philadelphia from Las Vegas last fall. Steve is working for Tait Towers, building and engineering equipment for concerts, theatres, theme parks, and so on. He recently saw Ryan Ferguson when Ryan stopped in on his way back to DC from a holiday ski trip to New England. He welcomes more visitors as he gets settled in to his new city.
Congratulations to Tess Scott ’06 (third from left), who got married last August in Kennebunkport, Maine. Classmates Jevan Jammal, Whitney Dublin, and Tanisha Colon-Bibb served as bridesmaids.
Mike McMahon and Yurie Sekigami, both Class of ’06, got married in Cochran Chapel this past September, with several classmates attending the ceremony. From left are Mike Monaco, Danny Clark, Tony Christiano, Eunice Hong, the groom and bride, PA instructor in Japanese Teruyo Shimazu, Cornelia Wolcott, and Christa Vardaro.
Ryan Ferguson proposed to his girlfriend, Aly, this past summer. They are getting married in Andover in July and will be having the reception outside the Log Cabin on campus. Ryan started a new job in August managing DC Inno, a media company that reports on startups and innovation in the DC area. Last August, following one year in Boston and three years in San Francisco, Laura Minasian moved to Stockholm, where she continues her work in recruiting at McKinsey & Company. Brooks Canaday is living in Denver and will soon start working toward a master’s degree in counseling psychology at Regis University. Danny Silk is thriving in NYC, where he frequently catches up with alums. He met former
roommate Conner Stoldt for drinks over the holidays. Conner was passing through on his way to Thailand, where he island-hopped for a few weeks and rode a 3 ½-ton gentle giant named Ellie the Elephant. In December, Claire Voegele went for seafood at Joe’s in Chicago with Sarah Gardner, who is in a pediatrics residency at Northwestern, and Stuart Anderson, who is working for the company with the best holiday-party headliners (Groupon). The three also met up for a drink with Alex Clifford, who is trading corn futures on the CME. Claire is in her second year of law school and will be clerking at the firm Nelson Mullins in Boston, where she is “so looking forward to reconnecting with the pool of ’07ers there.” Andover | Summer 2016
