EAGXC is more than just another team. It’s a family of girls who love to run day in and day out. Whether it’s a hard workout after a long day of classes or a Wednesday recovery run, we always have fun together as a team. From tie-dying T-shirts on the academy lawn to going on 10-mile hikes on free weekends, our team has built a strong bond both in and out of practices. Not only do we share so many great memories together, we support each other every day on and off the trails. In addition to the fun times we have every day, we’ve come a long way in the past five years. In 2012, we placed 12th at Interschols, followed by an 8th place finish in 2013. In 2014 we made a big jump, finishing third, and last year we took home the second place plaque. Our improvement is undoubtedly due to the work ethic we have built steadily over the years, thanks to the dedication and drive of the amazing girls on our team. Now, in the midst of the 2016 season, we are excited to carry our momentum forward and race hard at E/A and Interschols. We plan to bring a lot of energy and a lot of focus into the final two races of the season! —Sarah Brown ’17 & Christine Hu ’17

I

’ve always felt insurmountable pride in the success of girls’ cross-country. But even though we’ve been New England Champions for the last two years, our records or our times don’t define this success: it’s the community fostered within the team. I joined PAXC four years ago, and I am constantly reminded of how wonderful and impactful it has been to be a member of this team. Each day, I spend my time simply running with my teammates. We thrive together, pushing each other in every workout, up every hill, and through every finish. With no lineup or playing time, it’s just each girl, their teammates, and the threemile course ahead. Our team is built on a foundation of inclusivity. Whether you’ve never run in your life or have been running for years, everyone tries just as hard to get better and faster. With each new season, we welcome runners new and old and immediately get to work. My experience on PAXC has been the most rewarding part of my Andover career. I cannot picture my life without these girls, the true wings on my feet. I am unbelievably thankful for my coaches and the girls I’ve run with, from the Class of 2014 all the way through the Class of 2020. I look forward to A-E weekend and the New Englands with complete faith in my team. —Morgan Rooney ’17
