Typical beefy blonde bulls ready to inject the blonde breeds exceptional kill out into your herd!!
The Ballycraddock herd was founded in 1993 with one cow and calf at foot. This one cow started an amazing trend producing 18 calves in her 21 years, her second eldest daughter has had 14 calves in 16 years and is still producing. We have found that high fertility is a major trait in the breed.
Within the 18 years of producing blondes we have found that BLONDES ARE BEST. The high killout rate has proved that the blonde is one of the top beef breeds around. The last animal we killed for meat was a 15 month old bull, grass fed he killed out at 64% and meat out at 81%.

We have proved that the blonde “hard calving” traits are just a myth, within the Ballycraddock herd we have had just three assisted births in the last fifty one.
We use the top sires from France and Britian to produce what we think is a top quality product, and have successfully showed cows, bulls, heifers and calves.
For our crossbreed weanlings we have received €2.99 per kilo, for the cull cows we have received up to €2.00 per kilo.
The Irish Blonde breed improvement committee have selected 3 sires for our breed improvement scheme in 2011/12, all easy calving, all extra beefy and British bred in Blackwater Ainsley and Jockey and Fronfedw Arawn, with Ainsley and Jockey having exceptional maternal traits and Arawn being extreme muscled.

Just a word of advice re the star ratings for the blonde bulls in the catalogue, many of the bulls are only new in the last year or so and without progeny the figures are really useless and misleading. Don’t let the figures put you off, they will rise once progeny arrives” better use a good bull with no stars than a bad one with stars!!”
