From the President of the Board & Executive Director Dear Friends, It’s hard to believe there are only two more concert sets left in the 21/22 season! But rest assured, we have lots of music over the summer and hope you’ll join us for concerts beyond the Bay Area. We are delighted to welcome Skip Sempé, making his PBO conducting debut with this wonderful baroque program, which includes the Albinoni oboe concerto, played by PBO oboist Marc Schachman. As you’ll see in the program book, these March performances will mark the end of Marc’s distinguished 30-year career with Philharmonia. We are deeply grateful for Marc’s exceptional artistry and all that he brought to PBO over many years. April brings a brand new staging of Handel’s Radamisto with a star cast and four performances that will light up the stage at Bing Concert Hall at Stanford University. And if you’re a PBO subscriber and don’t feel like driving, hop on one of the complimentary buses from San Francisco or Berkeley—and enjoy a very comfortable luxury coach, a pre-concert talk and an optional gourmet boxed dinner. Leave the driving to us! As we look to the 2022/23 season, check your mailboxes for your subscription renewal packet and re-up soon! It’s an exquisite season of music with so many new soloists making their debuts and the return of good friends we’ve been eagerly waiting to welcome back. Our staff will be in the lobby to help you with your subscription, and rest assured, the coveted tote bag is coming with beautiful art from the 22/23 season brochure. And if you don’t have a subscription, we’d love to help you create one. Wishing you a very happy start to the spring season. With our warmest thanks,
David and Courtney
