Overview Dasacine (Dasatinib) tablet is an anti-cancer medication used in the treatment of Blood Cancer. It is prescribed specifically for the treatment of Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL) which is a type of white blood cell cancer. Dasacine belongs to a group of medications known as a protein-tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It blocks the action of the abnormal protein.
Pharmacodynamics Dasacine, comprising Dasatinib, is an ATP-competitive protein tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It mainly targets BCR/Abl, Src, c-Kit, and ephrin receptors. Its molecular formula is C22H26ClN7O2S and its molecular weight is 488 g/mol. Dasatinib inhibited the growth of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) cell lines overexpressing BCR/Abl.
