The only contact between you and the road are your tyre’s. This contact is extremely important in maintaining the safety of you, your passengers and other road users. Phantom Tyre Protector is designed to protect you from punctures* and worse, a blowout. A blowout is caused by under inflated/overloaded tyres which overheat because there is too little air in the tyre. This increases the friction between the tyre and the road surface, increasing heat and weakening the tyre’s sidewalls & structure to the point where catastrophic failure occurs.
How Phantom Tyre protector works Phantom Tyre Protector repairs punctures and leaks immediately, as air pressure inside the tyre forces Tyre Protector into the punctured area giving an instant repair. As the tyre rotates, centrifugal force evenly spreads Tyre Protector over the entirety of the internal tread area, coating the area with a minimum 2mm coating of sealant. Frequently asked questions What is Tyre Protector? A glycol based, water soluble tyre sealant that when professionally installed will permanently protect tyres against punctures and air loss. Additional benefits include extending the life of tyres and improving fuel efficiency.
How does it seal punctures? Tyre Protector forms a thin protective coating between the tyre and the air within the tyre. When a object penetrates the tyre, air pressure forces the sealant into the punctured area repairing the damage instantly and permanently.
Why does it extend the life of tyres? A tyres biggest enemy is excess heat. Excess heat is caused by under inflation. Under inflation is the cause of 98% of blow outs. It can be caused by slow punctures or poor maintenance but tyre protector will prevent under inflation.
Why does it improve fuel efficiency? When a tyre is running at its correct pressure it creates less rolling resistance. To prove this quite easily to yourself try pushing a wheelbarrow with an under inflated tyre.
What is the lifespan of Tyre Protector? Providing it is kept in an air tight container, indefinite. In a tyre, the legal life of the tyre.
Will Tyre Protector damage the rim? Tyre Protector contains corrosion and rust inhibitors and will not damage the rim or steel belt within the tyre.
Can Tyre Protector be used in a tubed tyre? Yes providing the correct procedure is followed. However, we cannot guarantee the installation because we do not know the condition of the tube.
Will Tyre Protector affect the manufacturer’s warranty? As Tyre protector is chemically inert and water soluble it does not affect the components of the tyre and will not affect the manufacturers warranty.
Is it Environmentally safe? The ingredients in Tyre Protector are nonhazardous, non-toxic and biodegradable. The product is fully water soluble and may be washed away with water. This enables commercial tyres to be reused by way of re-treading or re-mixing.
Does it effect my Wheel Balancing? Tyre Protector does not affect the balance of the tyre because it is professionally installed using precise quantities. It is however recommended, especially with cars, that the wheels should be balanced prior to installation.
