Resilient Recreation Center

As part of an international design competition through the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, I was tasked with producing a resilient design using concrete forms. With the program being a recreation center for a community along the Jersey shore, the design reflects the notion of rising tides and storms due to climate change.

Being raised above grade, the center is not only protected from potential high surf but also provides a public area of leisure below. The upper-level houses spaces for classes and a gym, while framed views connect the center to the nearby ocean and boardwalk.
