.30-16.00 Love Motel Love Motel is a Swiss rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960, who became one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed acts in the history of popular music. Since their heyday the group consists of Love (rhythm guitar, vocals) and Motel (keyb). Rooted in skiffle and 1950s rock and roll, the group later worked in many genres ranging from rock to psychedelic & electro pop, often incorporating glam rock guitars, booty basses and robotic rhythms in innovative ways. The nature of their enormous popularity, which first emerged as the “Love Motelmania” fad, transformed as their songwriting grew in sophistication. The group came to be perceived as the embodiment of progressive ideals, seeing their influence extend into the social and cultural revolutions of the 2000s. During their studio years, Love Motel produced what critics consider some of their finest material including « Après le Paradis…(2003) » and « Mind the Void (2008) », widely regarded as masterpieces. They are about to break up because of a girl.

.30-17.00 Pencadlys With an ability to unveil hidden gems that would leave Arsene Wenger drooling, the Peski gods have once again decided to send us a new musical messiah. Going under the guise of ‘Y Pencadlys’ with songs of operatic ambition and devilish humour, the musical project of Haydon Hughes is busily under construction.

If this guy wrote daily horoscopes you wouldn’t know whether to stay in bed or rush out of the house naked, but it would give your day a citrus burst equal to a pint of Mountain Dew. A release of some shape or form will be upon us in the near future.

.30-18.00 Kid Chocolat Kid Chocolat is a Swiss musician and producer born in Geneva the 26th of March 1974. He’s the founder of Poor Records and PREC Publishing. He’s also a member of The Scribblers and Fortuna. From the beginning, Kid Chocolat knew his taste for films. After a first ep dedicated to Peter Sellers, the musician composed a tribute to the italian horror master, Dario Argento. His first album released in 2002 is called “Life And Death Romano Poal” and tells the story of an imaginary musician and producer through the music history. Recently, he tried to make the zombies dance in a funky ballroom with his album “Zombiparti!”. He released in 2008, in collaboration with video artist Pascal Greco, a double feature project including a DVD and an original soundtrack called “Super8°”. If Kid Chocolat loves movies and quotes from the soundtracks by John Barry, Ennio Morricone and Henry Mancini and samples dialogues, he also directed a tribute compilation to the beginnings of Stephan Eicher and Grauzone and regularly collaborates with Asia Argento, daughter of you know who and French comic writer, Luz. It has musical preferences known to the psychedelia, the absurd, black and suspense.

.30-19.00 Gwenno “Music!” this is the word she used to shout first thing every morning, according to Gwenno’s father. So he used to play trumpet calls on the flute, or sing little stanzas about beer, or play a cassette by the Tebot Piws, or the Chieftains, or Vivaldi. It was music she asked for, and music was what she’s had all her life. And it was in Cardiff that she got that music, a town between the sea and the Valleys, a town where the families had come from every part of the world. Whether in school eisteddfodau, or in Irish clubs, or with her Mum’s socialist street choir, there was no escaping from the music. Because of her upbringing, her age was in double figures before she knew about the Beatles, or the Rolling Stones, or David Bowie. This revelation opened new horizons to her, when she was in the secondary school. Unfortunately, she wasn’t in the school often enough to share this revalation with the other pupils. She preferred to spend the afternoon watching Bollywood videos and smoking Benson & Hedges. Then there came the call to dance on the same stage as the Lord of the Dance himself, and off she went to dance round the world.

.30-20.15 Toni & Puma Mimi Tim & Puma Mimi – The quirky electro duo from Zurich and Tokyo. Indeed Tim pulls out a cucumber in the middle of the concert and pricks it with two electrified needles and the cucumber produces archaic electro sounds. Mimi tunes in with “I feel good” respectively “I feel gurk” (see. Frutilizer page), bouncing about as if the cucumber had an exhilarant impact. Though we need to move back into the year 2003: Tim and Mimi met each other at an old-school Santa-Claus-Party in Utrecht/NL, where both of them studied. After a three week musical excess, Mimi had to return to Japan and Tim put four songs on the Internet. The songs zipped through the net and found ears of concert promoters. They were overwhelmed by gig and festival requests from events such as Sonar Electronic Music Festival in Spain, Jazzfestival Montreux or Paléo Festival in Nyon. Eventually Mimi gave up her job in Japan and started to commute between Japan and Switzerland in three-monthcycles. By 2011 they had enough of travelling back and forth, got married and live happily ever after; in Zürich and continue to collect stones.

.45-21.30 R-Seiliog R.Seiliog is alias to Robin Edwards, a musician/producer operating from Cardiff, Wales. He was born in the basement of a watchmakers shop in Peniel, North Wales in 1985. This early exposure to the syncopated rhythms of countless different timepieces was to have a lasting effect on the way he hears the world and indeed, composes. His music has the repetitive, hypnotic, and melodic qualities of his kosmiche forefathers Klaus Schulzes, Cluster, and Harmonia, but is rhythmically more akin to minimalist composers like La Monte Young and Terry Riley. Put simply his music is drones and loops elevated with cheeky little melodic jaunts and pops. Having spent much of 2010-12 recording and touring with H.Hawkline, Cate Le bon, Gruff Rhys & Euros Childs; R.Seiliog’s debut EP Shuffles saw him prepapre the world for his interwoven frayed, melodic threads of krautrock, psych and experimental electronics.

.00-22.45 Pol Electronic music producer since the dawn of the nineties, nested between the persistant hammering of an electro dancefloor and the dark backstages of the post-industrial civilisation, POL infiltrates his music into our world by every mean. At the decks or performing live, we follow his footprints from the techno underworld of Geneva to the clubs of the planet (Paris, Barcelona, Berlin, New York, Lisbon, Bogota…). On the screens, his productions have insinuated themselves in the arty zombies movie of cult director Bruce LaBruce, but also in the very frenchy Quand j’étais chanteur, with Cécile de France and Gérard Depardieu, whose original soundtrack features a track produced by POL with his former ‘team-mate’ Water Lilly. On record, his productions are hosted by Helvet Underground, a digital label that he runs himself, and on CD on Poor Records, a small swiss label gaining attention on the world circuit with artists such as Kid Chocolat, Love Motel, Solange La Frange or Gina & Tony. In 1991, POL was largely contributing to the laying out of Geneva’s electronic music foundations as a member of MXP, together with Plastique De Rêve. In 2002, he was projecting himself into space by co-writing Water Lilly’s music, electro-techno with a touch of pop glamour and cosmic atmospheres. Today, he pursues his conquest of space as a solo pilot.

.00-23.45 Plyci The biggest thing to come out of Rhyl since Kwik Save, Welsh wunderkind Gerallt Ruggiero, records under the moniker Plyci and has shifted through synth pop, glitch, ambient, electro, techno and IDM and probably won’t settle on any one style in the future either. Plyci first appeared on the electronic radar back in 2007 with the release of a single on the Ciwdod record label. In the following years he’s been busily releasing free tracks and has developed a reputation as a prodigious remixer having sprinkled some Plyci dust on tracks from Gruff Rhys, Truckers of Husk, Swiss act Kid Chocolat and label mates VVOLVES which can all be found on his soundcloud page. He’s performed live sessions for BBC Introducing on Radio 1, for Huw Stephens’s C2 show on Radio Cymru and also appeared numerous times at Huw Stephens’ SWN Festival in Cardiff. He’s supported bands such as Bordeaux noise makers Kap Bambino, Cardiff synth wizz Evils and up and coming bands such as VVOLVES and Land of Bingo. At the beginning of 2012 he toured Switzerland whilst also performing in Jakokoyak’s backing band. His main ambition is to take Italo disco to North Korea.
