Perry’s has long been known for the stories behind our jewelry. This amazing diamond and emerald necklace came to us from a California estate. The original owner had been strolling down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills when she was stopped in her tracks at the Cartier window by a stunning diamond and sapphire necklace. She and her beau inquired about the necklace, but she loved emeralds, and this piece was set with a sapphire. She couldn’t stop thinking about the necklace she had seen in the Cartier window. She sketched out her own version of the necklace on a napkin that featured an emerald that could be removed.
Some time passed, and she had almost forgotten about the necklace. While at brunch one weekend, her beau presented her with a velvety jewelry box, and inside was the necklace she had drawn on the napkin, complete with the emerald centerpiece. It had been specially commissioned to her exact specifications as she had drawn them on the napkin. She loved the necklace, and always wore it with love and admiration. The necklace now resides in Perry’s showcase, awaiting the next owner to love and admire it. This stunning necklace features over 19 carats of diamonds in 18 karat white gold cascading down to the detachable 8.73 carat ovalshape emerald pendant.

Emeralds have long been associated with royalty and wealth, dating as far back as Cleopatra (and perhaps even earlier!). Emeralds mined in Colombia are known for their high clarity, meaning fewer internal characteristics, and strong to vivid saturation in the highly sought-after blue-green to true‑green color range. For these reasons, Colombian emeralds are the yardstick by which all other emeralds are measured. This exquisite bar pin features five stunning sugarloaf cabochon cut emeralds weighing approximately 6 carats set in intricate platinum filigree atop a 14 karat yellow gold base and adorned with approximately 4.50 carats of Old European cut diamonds. This impressive 10.97 carat Ceylon sapphire exhibits the highly sought‑after blue color of the highest caliber sapphires. Set amid a double halo of 2.24 carats of round brilliant cut diamonds in platinum, the sapphire and diamonds can be removed from the ring and suspended from a hidden bail to become a pendant.

Edwardian jewelry is known for its exquisite detail, and this incredible pendant is no exception. The pendant is fashioned in antique darkened silver over 18 karat yellow gold in a pear motif with an open frame set with 5.25 carats of Old European cut diamonds in a garland style. At the center of the piece dangles a resplendent 10.5 by 7.7 millimeter natural pearl. Natural pearls are extremely rare. A natural pearl of value is only found in one of every 10,000 wild oysters. Burmese rubies command higher prices than any other gemstone, with the exception of fancy color diamonds.
