During our 2021-2022 Season, Arts for Life will serve Aspen Community Magnet School, Capital High School, El Camino Real Academy, El Dorado Community School, Mandela International Magnet School, Milagro Middle School, Nina Otero Community School, Ortiz Middle School, and Santa Fe High School. Arts for Life Teaching Artists serve the same classrooms every week! This consistent presence, technical expertise, and one-on-one evaluation increases the students’ musical skills, self-confidence, and creativity while promoting curiosity, teamwork, and engagement in other curricular disciplines.

masterclass series Through the Masterclass Series, aspiring musicians, dancers, and actors have the unique opportunity to interact and work closely with the internationally-renowned mainstage artists we present in an intimate masterclass setting. These intensive experiences are offered to intermediate and advanced students pursuing arts education and allow hundreds of students each year to benefit from instruction from some of the brightest luminaries in their field. During a typical year, nearly half of our mainstage artists offer masterclasses as part of this series. These are truly once-in-a-lifetime experiences for the students!

field trip series This program provides local students, including every 5th and 6th grader in the Santa Fe public school district, with the opportunity to experience student matinee performances from our extraordinary lineup of international performing artists. Performance Santa Fe offers these interactive matinees to thousands of students at various venues across Santa Fe throughout the year. For many students, these Field Trip Series matinees are their only encounter with the performing arts, and serve as an introduction to the world of live performance. Resource materials for teachers are available upon request to help make the experience for students as meaningful as possible.

jazzreach get hip! This fall marks the beginning of our producing partnership with JazzReach, a nationally recognized organization dedicated to the promotion, performance, creation, and teaching of jazz music. Through this new Field Trip Series offering, we are thrilled to provide a 13-part original online “docuseries” to thousands of students all across New Mexico. This new digital series for young audiences will aim to illuminate many of the modern and historical facets of jazz music that make it such a compelling and uniquely American art form.

in loving memory of beth moise, carol toobin and mara robinson

beth moise ph.d. Performance Santa Fe would like to extend our sympathies to the family of Beth M. Moise, Ph.D.. From the moment Beth joined our Board of Directors in 2014, her intelligence, determination, and sense of humor provided the organization with passion, vision, and creativity. Her enthusiasm and generosity was reflected in her membership on several Board Committees, including her recent leadership on the Executive Search Committee, chairmanship of the Governance Committee, and membership on the Executive and Strategic Planning Committees. As Performance Santa Fe Board President Michael Brown remarked, “Beth Moise was a cornerstone member of the PSF Board. She always brought a clear-eyed vision and insight into our proceedings. I personally considered her a mentor, a partner and above all, a good friend. Her irreplaceable presence will most certainly be missed by the Board of Directors.” The Performance Santa Fe family is deeply saddened by this considerable loss.

mara robinson Performance Santa Fe would like to express our deep sympathy to the family and friends of Mara Robinson. Mara and her husband Charles ‘Chuck’ Robinson began attending performances in Santa Fe over 40 years ago. She always charmed fellow guests with her genuine warmth. A former opera singer, Mara was an avid supporter of arts education. Together with Chuck, she generously underwrote much of Performance Santa Fe’s education programming, while also undergirding the PSF Foundation in its early years. Performance Santa Fe will never forget her kindness, grace, and generosity.

in memoriam

It’s not the length of life, but the depth of life. —ralph waldo emerson

carol toobin With the untimely passing of Carol Toobin, Performance Santa Fe would like to express our deepest condolences to her beloved family, and many devoted colleagues and friends. Carol was a person of unusual generosity and selflessness. During her 16 years in Santa Fe, Carol was deeply involved in the civic life of our community, giving her time and creative talents to a wide variety of cultural institutions. She always gave “above and beyond.” Carol enjoyed serving as a docent for the Santa Fe Opera and was a member of the Social Committee of the Opera Guild. She volunteered at Performance Santa Fe, Santa Fe Pro Musica, the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian, and the Museum of International Folk Art. She was also a member of the Development Committee for the Lensic Performing Arts Center, where she also served as an “Ambassador.” The performance Santa Fe Family will greatly miss Carol’s presence.

SAFETY PROCEDURES

MASKS

NOT FEELING WELL?

All patrons, especially unvaccinated patrons, are required to wear a face mask from the time you enter the venue, throughout the duration of the performance, and as you are leaving. Please ensure that masks fit properly and cover your mouth and nose. PSF will provide you with a mask if you have forgotten yours. Note that all PSF staff and volunteers will be wearing masks at all of our performances for the safety and comfort level of our patrons.

We encourage anyone who is feeling unwell not to attend a performance. If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, please call the Box Office prior to your performance to discuss your ticket options. We will work with patrons on a case-by-case basis.

CLEANING + HYGIENE We encourage all patrons, staff, and artists to wash their hands frequently and use the hand sanitizer dispensers located throughout each venue. Recommended cleaning and disinfection products and procedures will be used to regularly sanitize all frequently shared surfaces.

Please visit PerformanceSantaFe.org for the most current information about our health and safety protocols.

VENUE REQUIREMENTS All Performance Santa Fe venues will require that all persons ages 12 or older attending events—including patrons, artists, staff, volunteers, and backstage crew— provide proof of full vaccination or the results of a negative Covid test taken within the previous 72 hours, along with matching ID to gain admittance.

Performance Santa Fe has successfully completed the New Mexico Safe Certified program as a Large Entertainment Venue.
