Keynote Presentation Dr. Gerry Francis
Executive Vice President, Elon University Senior Affiliate Consultant, Performa Higher Education With more than 30 years of service with Elon University Dr. Francis has served as a Professor of Mathematics, Dean of Academic Affairs, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Provost, and Executive Vice President. As Provost, he managed the internal administrative operations of the University and acted in the absence of the president. He provided leadership and direction for the longrange planning process, the annual priorities for action, and the budget. As Vice President for Academic Affairs, his responsibilities were wide-ranging, but included: intellectual and administrative leadership of the faculty and academic support staff, the development of the academic program and the assessment of student academic performance, developed and administered the curriculum, and developed and recommended the academic budget. Dr. Francis has served as a member of several SACS Accreditation Review teams and a number of consulting engagements. Dr. Francis earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Appalachian State University, and his Ph.D. in mathematics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
