Functional Beauty Kountry Kraft has been a leading custom cabinetry manufacturer since 1959. We are located in the heart of Pennsylvania, where artisan craftsmanship is a highly valued and desired skill that is passed through generations. All Kountry Kraft products are hand crafted from specially selected lumber using furniture grade solid woods and veneers. Every project is treated with the care it deserves – from cutting and assembly to finishing and quality inspections – ensuring that every custom cabinetry project we produce is delivered to specifications.

Dovetailing Quality Dovetailing is a finishing touch that helps keep hand crafted cabinetry strong and secure, creating an extremely strong joint between two pieces of wood that can withstand heavy use. It is a testament to fine craftsmanship and also creates a more beautiful finished product. You will see it incorporated in many of our products, not just drawers.

The Kountry Kraft Story Kountry Kraft has built a legacy of remarkable craftsmanship woven from one family’s deep pride and commitment to excellence. The path that led to the launch of Kountry Kraft as a top cabinet maker is a beautiful story reminiscent of the Gift of the Magi. In 1958, Helen Hurst squirreled away money each week to buy her husband Elvin a surprise Christmas gift – a brand new Sears Craftsman Table Saw. Elvin made cabinetry and furniture for friends and family. When demand for his creations grew, Elvin and Helen launched Kountry Kraft in their family garage in April of 1959 with the help of Elvin’s parents Reuben and Mary Hurst. They worked together to build their business while raising four children and continuing to run their family farm. Their roots instilled in them an especially strong commitment to hard work and fair business. As a result, the company soared. Elvin and his staff continued using that saw for 18 years. The company rapidly expanded to a 96,000 square foot facility, while employing an exceptional staff of over 100 skilled craftsman. As a testament to exceptionally hard work and quality craftsmanship, the saw still stands in the Kountry Kraft lobby today.
Kountry Kraft Today As the company flourished over the years, two of Elvin and Helen’s four children, Elvin Hurst Jr. and Dolores Hurst-Funk, became immersed in the family business. Consequently, this experience gave them a strong desire to guide Kountry Kraft into the future. Especially noteworthy was the unique opportunity to learn alongside their parents. In February 2003, Elvin Jr. and Dee purchased the Company from their parents. In addition, they continue to operate it in the original location on the Hurst family farm in the beautiful Pennsylvania Dutch Country of Lebanon County.

At Kountry Kraft, we began our business handcrafting cabinetry in the heart of Pennsylvania. For more than 65 years, we have purposefully produced American made cabinetry. We are proud of our commitment to keeping valuable skilled manufacturing jobs in the USA and continuing the tradition of American craftsmen ingenuity. Also included in our commitment is furthering the art of custom cabinetry here in Lebanon County where our company began by investing in our local community and schools.

Lifetime Warranty Kountry Kraft proudly warrants its manufactured product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal home use and care for as long as the original purchaser owns the product and the product is at the original site of installation. This warranty covers the repair or exchange of any part or parts which may prove defective under normal home use and care during this period and is not extended to replacement of component parts. These component parts manufactured by others may have their own warranties.

Sustainable & Green Kountry Kraft offers a formaldehyde-free acrylic polyurethane finish which does not yellow, is more durable, has less cracking, and is water resistant. This finish enhances the quality of traditional cabinet finishes. Our plywood and all other materials are Carb II compliant. Kountry Kraft’s recycling program encompasses wood, cardboard, metal and finishing product waste. All scrap wood is used by local farmers for animal bedding as well as to heat the manufacturing facility in the winter.
