How to Delete Account in Pepperstone

Whether you’re moving to a new broker or taking a trading break, you can close your Pepperstone account quickly. Follow the steps below—and if you decide to return later, you can always re‑open an account.

1. Withdraw Any Remaining Funds

Before closing, make sure your account balance is zero:

  1. Log in to your Pepperstone Personal Area.

  2. Go to “Funding” → “Withdraw.”

  3. Select your withdrawal method (bank transfer, card, or e‑wallet).

  4. Enter the amount and confirm.

Wait for the withdrawal to complete (typically instant for e‑wallets/cards; 1–3 business days for bank transfers).

2. Close Open Positions and Cancel Pending Orders

Ensure you have no active trades:

  1. In your trading platform (MT4, MT5, or cTrader), close all open positions.

  2. Cancel any pending limit or stop orders.

This prevents unexpected margin calls after your account is closed.

3. Submit an Account Closure Request

Pepperstone does not offer an automatic “delete” button, but you can request closure:

  1. In the Personal Area, click “Help” or the live chat icon.

  2. Send a message: “Please close my account and delete my personal data.”

  3. Alternatively, email support at support@pepperstone.com with subject line “Account Closure Request.”

Include your account number and registered email address for verification.

4. Confirm Identity Verification

For security, Pepperstone may ask you to confirm your identity before closing:

  • Provide a scanned copy of your ID (passport or driver’s license).

  • Confirm your registered email or phone number.

This ensures only the rightful owner can close the account.

5. Wait for Closure Confirmation

After your request, Pepperstone’s support team will:

  • Verify your identity and zero balance

  • Process the closure within 1–2 business days

  • Send you an email confirmation once the account is closed

6. Data Deletion and GDPR/Privacy Rights

Under global privacy regulations (FCA, ASIC, GDPR for EU clients), Pepperstone will:

  • Retain required transaction records for regulatory purposes

  • Delete unnecessary personal data upon request

  • Confirm the scope of data retention in their closure email
