TOOL LENDING CENTER

The City of Peoria operates a Tool Lending Center to assist homeowners, renters, and neighborhood groups in undertaking landscaping projects, yard clean-ups, community rebuilding and other improvement projects. Borrow a tool for FREE from Peoria’s Tool Lending Center!

NEIGHBORHOOD GRANTS

Peoria's Neighborhood Grant Program offers non-HOA Neighborhood Associations funding to improve their neighborhoods. The program aims to strengthen community connections and encourage lasting engagement. Residents interested in becoming neighborhood leaders are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Party in a Box is FREE for City of Peoria residents to reserve. Each box is filled with games to encourage fun and safe gatherings at your home! The purpose of Party in a Box is to build community and relationships during the summer months when it is too hot to gather outdoors.

2025 HEAT RELIEF EFFORTS: STAY SAFE AND COOL THIS SUMMER

The City of Peoria is once again partnering with the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) to kick off the Heat Relief Regional Network. Peoria’s cooling centers and hydration stations will be operating from Thursday, May 1 to Tuesday, September 30.

Pool Rentals/Parties

The pools are available for rent and can host up to 400 people for private parties. Fees are based per hour, with a minimum of 2 hours rented. Full payment must be received at time of booking.

Reservation is for 30 individuals. The area is in the grass behind the south bleachers. We provide 2 canopies, 3 tables and 30 chairs. No playground access. Registration opens May 14 at 6am. Additional patrons must pay entry fees.

Adult Swim Lessons

This course is offered for those who have little or no swimming experience. The instructor will work with each participant at their own skill level to develop basic swimming skills.

Athletes are expected to attend majority of practices for competition. Special Olympics physicals are required before competition. Practice schedules will be provided after assessments and teams have been completed. Registration begins for Fall Sports (Swim, Golf, Softball and Soccer) on July 7 at 8am.

Swim Team

Beginning must be able to swim the length of the pool without assistance. Advanced must be able to swim 50 meters (2 lengths of the pool) without assistance.

A pre-assessment practice will determine practice dates and team placement.

We will have skills and course (Unified/Traditional) teams. Course team will play 9/18 holes depending on level. Clubs are strongly encouraged to play.

Assessments to determine teams will be conducted within the first two weeks of practice. Soccer is only offered as an area tournament.

Contracted with the Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities. Programs are staffed on a 1:4 staff-to-participant ratio, so a moderateto-high level of independence required. Pre registration is required and doesn’t guarantee enrollment.

Summer Youth Program

Keep your kids active and engaged this summer! Our fun-filled program for ages 6-8 and 9-11 offers games, crafts, and activities in a supportive environment. Sessions run Monday-Thursday, 3-7pm, from June 2 to July 17. Choose to register weekly ($15 per week) or for all seven weeks. Limited spots available, sign up today! Teen Invasion – Summer Program

The fee covers 7 weeks of programming, library, swimming at Sunrise Pool twice a week, most on-site activities, and off-site field trips. Registration opens April 21.

In this hands-on class, parent and teen pairs will chop, mix, and cook their way through classic Italian recipes.

Gen Z Thrift Fest! “One person’s past, your new fave fit”

This is a fun and eco-friendly event where teens can refresh their wardrobe and shop sustainably! Interested teens can purchase a table for $10 to sell or swap their gently used clothing and accessories, setting their own prices. Entry is free for shoppers to explore unique fashion finds, enjoy music, and check out DIY upcycling stations for a trendy thrift experience made just for Gen Z!

Teen Leadership Academy

Teens join us for a dynamic program designed to empower teens with essential leadership skills, teamwork, and community engagement. Through interactive workshops, hands-on projects, and mentorship opportunities, participants will develop confidence, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. This academy fosters personal growth while inspiring young leaders to make a positive impact in their communities. Fee includes a T-shirt, snacks, and end of year party.

Leader In Training (LIT)

Summer Teen Leader-in-Training Program is an exciting opportunity for teens to develop leadership skills while gaining hands-on experience working with youth. Participants will assist in organizing activities, mentoring younger campers, and learning essential teamwork and communication skills. This program provides valuable training, fosters responsibility, and prepares teens for future leadership roles in recreation and beyond. Fee will cover cost of T-Shirts.

FOOD/MEAL OPPORTUNITIES

Summer

Peoria Unified School District and the Summer Food Service Program provide an afternoon snack and hot dinner program during the summer months. Dinner is served at the William L. Patena Community Center from 5-6pm, Monday through Thursday, a cold meal is available on Fridays from 4-5pm. This program is free to any youth/teen 0-18, $4 for all others.

The HART (Helping at Risk Teens) Pantry

The HART (Helping at Risk Teens) Pantry provides weekend non-perishable food bags for teens 13-19 that are experiencing food insecurity. Teen bags are available every Thursday at the William L. Patena Community Center 8am-9pm. Any teen in need is welcome to come by and pick up a bag.

Community Legal Services (CLS), is a non-profit Arizona law firm that strives to assure fairness in the justice system no matter your financial situation, providing direct services to individuals falling below 125% of the federal poverty level.

CLS provides legal assistance, advice or representation, self-help materials, and legal education so people can know their rights. They focus on civil matters such as helping survivors of domestic violence, assisting victims of consumer fraud and abuse, protecting tenants from unlawful/unfair practices by landlords, foreclosures, wage claims and other employment matters, and federal and state programs affecting peoples’ health and economic stability.

Community Legal Services currently serves Peoria out of the Peoria Resource Center. They are available on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Peoria Resource Center (located within the William L. Patena Community Center, 8335 W. Jefferson St., Peoria AZ 85345) is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information about available resources, see contact information below.
