LAND AT BRYNSIENCYN, ANGLESEY

A development of 12 new energy efficient, affordable homes being built by DU Construction on behalf of ClwydAlyn and in partnership with Anglesey County Council and the Welsh Government.

PROGRESS UPDATE AND LOOKING AHEAD

Work on site is progressing well! Whilst the new homes are in development, they’re known as plots and plots 5-12 have had their timber frames erected, the roofers are busy slating the roofs, to ensure they’re waterproof for the internal plastering works.

The groundworkers are working on the footings and the concrete slabs of plots 1-4 ready for the timber frames in July. All homes will be complete in Spring 2024.

SCHOOL PUPILS SET THEIR GREEN FINGERS TO WORK

Pupils at Ysgol Brynsiencyn are setting their green fingers to work thanks to a donation by DU Construction. DU Construction have been working closely with the school children to make them three raised vegetable patches, so they are able to grow their own fruit and vegetables for years to come! We’re looking forward to seeing what they grow.

JAMES GETS A TASTE OF WORK ON A CONSTRUCTION SITE.

James, from Ysgol David Hughes in Anglesey, has joined DU Construction at Brynsiencyn to gain work experience on a construction site, he’s been attending for two days a week and is really enjoying it, he said;

“ I’m really enjoying myself, helping out on site, mixing with the different trades on site and doing various jobs. I’m hoping I can continue to work in the construction industry in the future.”

GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY OFFICIALLY MARKS THE START OF WORKS

In April, a ground-breaking ceremony officially marked the start of works on this £2.9m project. The new affordable family homes are part of ClwydAlyn’s ambitious build programme which coincides with Anglesey County Council’s ambitious plan to increase its housing provision on the island. It was great to see everyone at the event and Cllr Gary Pritchard, Portfolio Holder for Housing and Children’s Services at Anglesey County Council also attended and said:

“ It is great to see the start of works on these new homes in Brynsiencyn. The Council is happy to support this project which will provide much needed carbon friendly properties to families in the area, with clean and green homes which will hopefully offer energy efficiencies in times of rising fuel costs.”
