The Stratus ftServer V Series 6944 from Penguin Solutions® is an operationally simple solution that delivers continuous availability with high performance for VOS applications. Stratus servers running the OpenVOS operating system are highly valued for their ability to deliver industry-leading availability. The Stratus ftServer V Series 6944 combines this stability with the power of 44 Intel® Xeon® processor cores.
The Stratus ftServer V Series 6944 features a dual modular redundancy (DMR) hardware architecture engineered to provide greater than 99.999% availability right out of the box. It can handle unprecedented levels of online transaction processing (OLTP), making it ideal for financial services trading systems and retail point-of-sale (POS) debit and credit card authorization. With exceptional headroom for application growth, it provides unequaled investment protection that can evolve with your organization.

Like other Stratus systems, the Stratus ftServer V Series 6944 uses continuous processing technology to safeguard availability without the operational complexity and added costs of high-availability clusters. Built-in fault tolerance eliminates the failover scripting, repeated testing, and application changes required with server clusters.
Lockstep techn ol ogy
With Penguin Solutions lockstep technology, replicated, fault-tolerant hardware components process the same instructions simultaneously. In the event of a component malfunction, the partner component acts as an active spare that continues normal operations with no system downtime or data loss.
