HERB OF THE MONTH Goldenrod (also known as solidago canadensis or solidago virgaurea) is a flowering plant used as an herbal supplement that has long been used in folk medicine. The above-ground parts of the plant are believed to have medicinal value. It is also believed the roots can be used in medicinal detox. In nature, goldenrod can crossbreed with other plants. The United States is home to more than 130 distinct species of the plant. Goldenrod is also native to Europe and has spread to most of the world. Goldenrod gets its name from its small clusters of yellow flowers, which usually bloom in August and September. Some varieties have jagged-edged leaves while others have smooth edges.

Jpoetix I was lucky enough to get ahold of the Thoughtful genius behind the Mental Health podcast this is taking the East Coast in the bag this Summer.
As mental health crisis are continuing to be on the uptick in the United States, many have begged the media, and the stars that are in the limelight to pick up their crosses and shine the light on the truths they struggle with so that more people can feel that they aren’t alone. Today’s interview is a brief with a trailblazer who is seeking to help others vent about their past traumas and talks through their experiences with them, hoping to see land on the other side of what sometimes seems like an endless ocean of unhealed wounds and unresolved trauma.
What is it that made you dip your toes into the podcasting pool to begin with? What got me into podcasting? Two reasons,

My good friend Casper, he runs a podcast. He runs a podcast called K!D Casper Podcast.So he really influenced me to get my story out there and jump into it.
MYMENTALMONDAYS? Really.. It is why I am now podcasting. It started with me posting a IG story where people can give their input about their current mental state. It started as sporadic story posts, but then it became a regular thing. I’ve been doing it for about 5 months.
Also mainstream podcast called the New Rory & Mal is a heavy influencer in me making this move my audio visual expression.

Who are you hoping to reach? My podcast is centered around mental health and faith based personal growth. I think that a lot of the subject matter is relatable to teenagers and young adults. Helping to normalize mental health topics within this age group my main goal. Who Are you seeking to interview? Also men and women who have gone through mental health issues, but are not only ready to break free from the traumas, but to express how they feel. What do you foresee doing next? I would like to interview people who have gone through mental health issues; Those who are not only ready to break free from the stigmas and bondage of mental health, but who also seek to express how they deal with these issues,and how they feel and see life on the the recovery side of these issues.

2022 Influential Women To Watch
Issa Rae One of the most prolific women in media right now, trailblazing for others to be inspired. Issa Rae recently signed a 5 year film and television deal with Warner Brother media. Her recent deal is not a form of nepotism, but one of genuine ingenuity, as her long line of successes in film has proven she had a golden egg in her nest the entire time. With pieces such as Awkward Misadventures of a Black Girl and Insecure, it shows the world, there is a multidimensionality to what is most times considered, “just another black person” @issarae
Anika Noni Rose is a classically trained actress and singer who was the first ever black actress to voice the role of a Disney Princess, as Tiana, in the Princess and the Frog. Some of her most memorable roles : Beneatha , opposite Denzel Washington, in A Raisin in the Sun | Emmie Thibodeaux, in “Caroline, or Change” (I love her performance of “I Hate the Bus” Ms.Rose has also changed the game as she graced the stage as Carmen Jones. We can expect that this is only just the beginning for Anika Rose because of her dynamic stage presence and understanding of her energy , Ms.Rose eagerly has fans awaiting her next transformation of the role she is in. @Anikaaroundtheworld

Viola Davis is the first African American actress to achieve the “Triple Crown” of acting. She has wowed us with many standing ovation deserving performances. Just to name a few, the Fantasia Barrino story, as Fantasia’s mother. “The Disappearance of Elanor Rigby, as Professor Lillian. Fences with Denzel Washingtonm and as Professor Annalise Keating in Shondaland’s How To Get Away With Murder. Ms.Davis is also actively engaging on social media about black history and has even recounted her own personal experiences with civil rights. @ ViolaDavis
A modest and yet BRILL producer/director of Television. You may know her shows, but that is the foothill of a gigantic mountain of work. What strikes me as so interesting about her is her quiet wisdom. Even though you may not know her name, she is well-known by her works. Unlikely Stories Stories for people from a different time
Cloudy With A Chance of Love I also was lucky enough to see the city as it was in a weird state of limbo. There was a lot of flooding. There was a moment in time where I was standing inside of a pizzeria, while asking for directions, and there was a cashier willingly standing in flood water. She was complaining bout’ how they made her work anyways. I eventually ended up with my partner, he had such a handsome grin. He took me to our beautiful house, or what was left of it.. It was on the edge of a beautiful chaos. Actually it was built upon a cliff, and behind that cliff surrounded all sorts of beautiful weather patterns. It was almost as if the sky had been photoshopped to a galactic background. I saw rainbows and clouds that told of forthcoming storms, and even outside of our van it was seeming like a storm was coming. Gravitational pullswe’re out of whack, and things, so heavy, that only an elephant could move them, were suddenly being lifting up into the air. I was so shaken, we could be up in that storm, but he told me we should try. Got in the van, headed back into town. We were looking for supplies, and then we noticed there was a car that had gotten caught up in fire. We pulled over to help them put it out. That was a mistake on both our parts.
