Waste Heights Park began as an in-depth research project on the topic of medical waste within New York City, more specifically, the area of Washington Heights. I focused on rerouting the non-infectious waste produced by hospitals, by localizing it within the neighborhood. In reaction, I designed a single stream sorting center within the confines of Mitchell Square Park, Washington Heights

The prevailing attitude among our group of preppers is one of paranoia. They are tied together by their mutual distrust and contempt of those who are not preppers. They are driven primarily by a survival of the fittest mentality, which dictates their various activities, from hoarding to arming. Thus the idea of community is one that can only be loosely associated with these preppers, as it is not unity against the world, but a streak of individualism that results. This paranoia manifests itself in the architecture of the Marriott Doomsday Inn 
