CHAPTER NEWS Nebraska Pictured: The chapter participated in UNL’s Dance Marathon, a 12-hour event that raised $140,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Five FarmHouse members served as family representatives and Dance Marathon executive committee members.

North Dakota State Pictured: Paul Subart (’13) won first place in the corn division for his research project, “The Displaced Farmer” during NDSU’s annual Innovation Challenge. The event features student research and proposed solutions to real-world challenges. First place included a cash prize of $5,000 for continued research and development.

Ohio State Pictured: Chapter members delivered a check to their local Leukemia-Lymphoma Society (LLS) office. As a result of their second annual Dodging for a Cure event and Family Day Benefit Auction auction, the chapter donated $2,000 to LLS.

The chapter placed first in the Ohio State University Homecoming parade float competition. Ryan Goddard (’15) was elected as 2015-2016 Ohio State FFA Officer.

Purdue Pictured: Chapter members volunteer at the Sycamore Valley Girl Scout Camp this spring, cleaning up the grounds as they prepare for summer camps. They also volunteered at Bauer Family Resources cleaning up and landscaping their facilities.

Construction for the new chapter house began the last week of classes in May. The new chapter facility is scheduled to be completed in January 2016 in time for members to move in for the spring 2016 semester.

Kansas State The chapter hosted Philan-throProud, a pancake feed to support “K-State Proud” with Alpha Delta Pi. They raised $503 to support this student philanthropy program, designed to help underprivileged students at K-State. Kentucky Cowboy Up for a Cure, the chapter’s rodeo philanthropy, raised $57,000 for the pediatric cancer research fund at the University of Kentucky Medical Center & Children’s Hospital. Michigan State The chapter held a golf tournament philanthropy and raised $2,500 to support the Michigan Farm Safety for Kids program. Minnesota In the spring 2015 semester, the chapter started a new philanthropy event, a canoe battleship competition. Over a week of battles in the University’s rec center swimming pool, participants helped raise $4,000 for LLS. P.J. Aarsvold (’14) was elected as 2015-2016 Minnesota State FFA President. Stephen Melson (’12) received the student leadership award from the College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences Alumni Society. Nebraska The chapter hosted a “Brunch and Bone Marrow” event to benefit Be the Match, with 78 new donor registrants from the brunch service project. In February, the chapter held the FarmHouse Open, a putt-putt golf social event. Each room created its own unique hole for the competition. Ryan Drvol (’13) and Johnny Ference (’13), were selected as two of the 21 recipients of UNL’s Outstanding Student Leadership Award. North Dakota State The chapter raised over $3,500 during its annual fish fry philanthropy in support of LLS. Brad Bischof (’12) was recognized as fraternity president of the year by NDSU Greek Life. Oklahoma State The chapter won several of the 2015
